Custom made Himalayan Metal Jerry Can Holders

Hi guys,
I own 2 REH, both 2016. Initially I had the red chinese made plastic jerry cans for both, the ones you see on a lot of photos.
Thing is: They get brittle over time, are hard to open without plyers, the nozzle which is inside the can when not in use DISSOLVES over time (no kidding) and yes, the color fades to grey if exposed to sunlight. On top of all that your cant secure them from theft of the gas or the entire can, it takes about 2 seconds to release them from the bike, which happened in one overnight stay roadside. To fit them on the bike you have to drill into the side-frame too, which I also did not like.

Long story short, I was thinking about alternatives but none that would load up on the rear of the bike and be "improvised". Finally I did design a metal holder that is easy to fit in under 3 minutes if you know how to use a spanner. It has an optional theft protection arm for a small padlock. No drilling needed, the nuts to attach them are already on the frame factory-wise. I sell a pair with screws and rubbers to hold the can for 60.-US plus 20.- US shipping from Rishikesh in India to the US (insured, airmail).
They are made from 1.5mm steel - laser cut and double layer powder coated.
They will take 2-3 weeks to reach the US.

Order them from our website:

Here is a video how to install them

Hi Sam, looks good. I might steal your design and make something similar for my Himmie. By the way, personally I reserve the word "jerrycan" for the original Afrika Corps WW2 design that the British Army found so good when they first found them, that good German quality, hence the name "jerry" Jerry Can2.jpgfor German. The other plastic petrol containers I wouldn't call jerrycans, they are nothing as good as the real thing.

Nice history tidbit about those cans, yeah, german engineering :)
Incidentally I am German - my question to you would be: how much do you make per hour? Of course if its fun and your hobby go ahead and copy it, but I needed about 5 prototypes and it took me 4 month to get it right., starting off with welded from multiple pieces to a plasma-cut version that was OK-ish but not 100% to the laser-cut that is this incarnation. It took time and money, even in India. Just a word of warning, it may be not worth your while ...

OK; so here's the special "Monsoon" offer for all none-Indian buyers:
I include a free pack of front & rear break pads (2 sets, original RE) with the package the value of which should be in the ballpark of 40 bucks, effectively offering a 50% discount (60 for the holder + 30 for the shipping minus 40 for 2 sets of pads)

So, how much does the holders plus the jerry cans weigh?

Those jerry cans can only be mounted vertical? I have a need on another bike where I might have to mount horizontal.

Sorry, but these holders only fit the REH and yes, only vertical. I do not know what the cans weight but the holders are 500g each.

Anything that is the size of the jerrycans can be fitted to these holders, in fact I am currently designing a toolbox that will fit there for people who want just one can but have need for extra tools or stuff.
