KEN ROCK.

Well travelled
Hi.. ,just wanting to soften the ride a bit on my new 350 Reborn, its not that the suspension is a problem on this bike ,it is my bad back ...so i am thinking new softer, shocks or maybe a seat upgrade.....any suggestions as to shocky type or whatever may help greatly appreciated....Cheers

It’s still a very new model so not many people would have the new 350 classic, even fewer with suspension changes.

Having said that Ikon shocks (Aussie firm) are a great brand and I have had rear shocks and Fork upgrades for two of my previously owned bikes my 2006 RE bullet and my Triumph Bonnie
Both bikes were transformed.

I have explained all this previously in another post. Not sure which thread.

Yeah Pete.....went to Ride Dynamics at Yatala Qld today .....very good reputation.....he pulled the shocks apart and took a lot of measurements and has sent the specs to IKON....Should receive the new ones in a week or so .MY BIKE.jpg

So did you get the fork springs as well?

(I did the fork springs and rear shock units at the same time).

The ride gets better after about 100 kms once all components of the shocks bed in.

No, just the rear shocks at this point, seems to be quite an improvement ....but haven't been for a long ride yet.Should be a low rider seat arriving this week.. will be interesting.

Yeah Pete ,thinking of getting the front forks done as well.,wondering if it is as expensive as the rear IKONS. Do they just replace the springs?

The front fork upgrade is much cheaper. I only did springs and different oil.
But if you go with more things like valves… then it starts to add up.

Sorry I was working away a lot those days so everything was done by my mechanic. Can’t tell you specific details of oil.

With the low seat and your raised shift lever do you stretch to shift? Does your foot rest flat on the shifter or does it sit above The foot rest?

I had to position the lever up at a slight angle with the low seat fitted. According to my dealer that is 2 splines higher??
If you think about it as the pegs are in front of the seat nose your foot is flatter rather than pointing down and I found with boots I had to make an effort to get my toe under the lever.
The low seat exaggerates this. I now lift slightly to change down.

ken. Do you notice a slight shudder at 50MPH + that feels like more than random road surface or the buzz of a thumper?
