2019 Himalayan for sale in Aldershot Hants/Surrey border

With reluctance, I'm selling my RE Himalayan 2019 (69 plate) as I've decided to upgrade and can't justify two bikes (haven't got room either!). My one-owner Himalayan is in White, almost perfect condition with just some slight scratches on the bar ends. It has Oxford heated grips, racks and...

Yep, that looks like the one.

    Would you buy again?

Thanks Overdrive. Looking at the 500X I'm not sure it'll take top box, panniers plus pillion which is a necessity for me. This is another reason I love the Himalayan, it does all of this and more!

    Would you buy again?

In the same circumstances that I bought mine (new rider, first proper bike) I'd definitely buy again. My Himalayan has proved to be thoroughly reliable and enjoyable during the 9000 miles I have put on it - fun, forgiving, cheap as chips to run. I do, however, do a few longer trips to France and...

How many times have you come off the bike

Only light stuff for me - bent gear-shift lever, lots of scuffs on bars and panniers and the worst one recently was the bolt holding the handguard and bar end weight in place got bent so I couldn't use the throttle until I'd twisted the whole thing back a bit. The embarrassing thing is I've only...

Dealer/workshop recommendations or any to avoid

Thought it might be useful to start a list of recommended RE dealers or independent workshops around the UK in case we find ourselves in need a little way away from home teerritory. I bought my Himalayan from Hartgate Motorcycles in Mitcham, SW London - https://hartgatemotorcycle.motogb.co.uk/...

    Weird noise from clutch

Before playing with the clutch plates I think I'd check the cable for lubrication and free play (cheaper and simpler to fix for a start!). I'm definitely no expert on this but after my recent service my clutch is distinctly smoother than before - not that I had your sort of symptoms. I don't...

    Side stand

I had 400v through me once and yes - it hurts! Felt quite dizzy for about an hour afterwards. I have been told since that it is not necessarily the volts that kill you, it's the amps that those volts are being pushed at...?

What have you done to your Himalayan today (or yesterday, or this week ...)

Yes, well done on the service - good job. It's really only the valve clearances that stop me from dipping my toe in the water of self-servicing. I'm sure I could manage the oil change etc but the thought of messing up the valves makes me shy away from that one.

Read before purchasing Givi rack for Himmy

I can atest to that. My dealer supplied a Kappa topbox when I bought my bike. I must admit it's brilliant - easy to use and equally easy to remove and refit. I hate riding with the topbox (ruins the look of the bike IMHO) so only use it when I need to.

    What tires for 80/20(...ish) use?

I quite fancy these when I replace mine in a month or two. Where did you purchase from and did they fit them for you? I'd like to get my local workshop to fit mine (because I trust them).

First service outside warranty - indy or dealer?

OK, so it is a little more than a couple of weeks(!) but only because the local guys couldn't fit me in until last Thursday. Took my bike to Normandy Motorcycles (https://www.normandymotorcycles.co.uk/) just outside Guildford for the 9000-mile service. I supplied the service kit which I bought...

First longer trip on my Himi

Makes sense. I'm no spring chicken at 60 so that doesn't help on the longer journeys. My trips to France are to visit my family there, so it is just a question of 'get there' rather than anything more leisurely. My biggest problem is that fuel consumption goes through the roof at 70mph or above...

What have you done to your Himalayan today (or yesterday, or this week ...)

Carefully! I knackered one of mine when I changed the screen angle a while back. I managed to get it to 'work' but I know it's no longer correctly positioned. With hindsight, a bit of washing-up liquid might have helped to keep the nutsert supple as well as helping to ease it back into place...

    Tire life span

I'm the same as tom_d - Just had the 9000-mile service on my 2019 Himmy and rear tyre is only just legal, front is not much better (both OEM Pirelli MT60s). I hardly thrash my bike so I'm a little disappointed but I understand that bike tyres only come with 5mm of tread when new compared with...

First longer trip on my Himi

Great pictures of an obviously enjpyable trip. Well done! I venture to France on a regular basis but only from Aldershot to Portsmouth, then to Caen on the Ferry followed by a couple of hours across Normandy to Brittany the other side. That 2-hour slog on fast roads has made me think about a...

    Himi Hard Panniers Question

Same as Dan - I rode for a couple of hours in the rain. Right pannier (lock facing the rear of the bike) was bone dry but the left pannier had a few drops of water in the bottom, not enough to call a puddle. I put it down to a bit of something being caught in the lid as I closed it but didn't...
