Run it until empty = 290 km

all that makes sense, but realistically, nobody does a Tank flushing until you start having issues. Normally when the fuel pump star playing up, if any.

Run it until empty = 290 km

I think that the fuel pump inlet for fuel might be higher than advertised . I assume that "deadstock" fuel is beacuse the fuel pump is not flush at the bottom of the tank, but a bit higher than that. how high , no idea. but as per my experiment , seems to be just over 2L (1/2 gallon)) from the...

Run it until empty = 290 km

Hello everyone: I have a Interceptor 650, he only mod I have done is the air filter, it has a DNA air filter. As per my calculations the Interceptor's 13.7 L tank with dead stock of 0.75L and a low fuel warning at 2.9 L were not adding up. So I decided to run it until empty and get real...

    Exhaust header fins rusting

when it rains , I take my other motorcycle ,2018 Africa Twin, not a problem riding in the rain. The Interceptor , great old school naked bike, splashes water all around , and I like my chrome clean. Only few times I have gone in the Interceptor in the rain, basically random rain on a trip. No...

    Exhaust header fins rusting

My son's bike looks the same , both orange tank and rust in the header connectors. He also lives about 3 blocks away from the beach in Melbourne. Now I wonder if that is a "feature" of orange crush colour Mine does not show any of that , but I keep my bike in the garage at night, and I also...

    It's a disease.

It's undeniable that HD has worked out a culture around their brand . Whether the "bad boys" look or the "show my your pride and joy" or just the "I can afford this" , it was all well crafted by the marketing team. Honestly those bikes look cool. Now from there to how well they perform compared...

    RE tall screen creating turbulence

Hi guys: I installed the RE tall screen in my interceptor around Sep 2022. I am 1.86cm tall and I could not feel any difference in terms of wind protection, but I left it there for cosmetic purposes and to protect the instrument cluster from a potential rock or debris from the road and to...

    Octane for Thunder 350

Hi @Ric , I have used e10 in my interceptor few times, I did not notice difference. I also used e10 a lot in my Ford Territory, there I notice that the fuel consumption was higher with e10 compared to 91. Cheaper per litter but it last less. Total cost would be the same using e10 or 91. For...

Monkeying with a stock seat, version 2.0

I have read many times that part of the discomfort comes from heat and pressure. that is mentioned by @NVDucati in the perineum area. I have heard of people using a 3D mesh cover to increase the air flow . No idea if that is a gimmick or a real thing, but I am interested in knowing about your...

    Roadside assist

Interesting. I got given the roadside assistance for free. (I can't remember paying anything else ) Maybe it was a promo in that time. I have not use it and hopefully I will never need to. But you know, can't be cheaper than free.

    It's a disease.

Yeah, that is totally true. I have posted some comments across other forums (I can't remember if I did it here too) about what people think is comfortable, what is comfortable and what the marketing masters sells as comfortable. The easier way to see it is this: Imagine your spine in your...

    Octane for Thunder 350

Well, the practice is known all around the world, you buy at cheap and sell for profit. Buy cheap (closer to due date) products and sell them for less than the price of the optimal product, increase customer approach and therefore sales. (It applies to food, cosmetic, tyres, helmet, you name it...

    Octane for Thunder 350

Mate, I guess that depends on where you live. Every fuel pump ever be in has independent hoses for each type of fuel, so in theory ,they are not mixed. And we should assume they put the correct fuel in the tankers. That is, fuel stations in Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland. I live in...

    My interceptor with side bags

As @2LZ mentioned, they leather bags don't get on the way of your legs while riding. When standing in a traffic light , I may touch them a bit with my hamstrings. No, nothing uncomfortable. If you try to put both of your legs in the ground (while seating in the bike) and stand up, they...
