2019 Interceptor issues

Hi new to forum and Interceptors. I purchased a 2019 RE Interceptor that had been sitting in the owners lounge room since new, only had 400km on it. Was ok for a few short rides then started having electrical issues which have been sorted. Now after leaving the bike sitting for months while overseas the throttle is seized up. I put fuel stabilizer in the tank and ran it before I left. Has anyone else had this experience, could the seizure be in the throttle housing, i opened it but couldn't see anything obvious. Or is it in the injection body. Would appreciate any advice on this before I take it out and shoot it. The bike is in the Philippines

I wouldn't think your climate would be much more humid than India, would it?

If your throttle cables are stuck, you can remove them from the bike (take lots of pics to make reassemble easier) and attempt to free them up with a spray lubricant, or simply replace them with new.
Anything else that's stuck will also benefit from the same spray lubricant.
Disassembly and cleaning may be required.

Do you have tools and mechanical skills?

Downloading a service manual may be helpful, there are links here on the forums somewhere.

My nomenclature will be off, but if you remove the cable ends at the throttle body and turn the throttle open and closed, seems to me you will know if that is one issue. Then you can turn to the injection system? But maybe it is something simple like the throttle housing needs cleaning or something has pitted in the humidity. Of necessity, I always begin with simple. The service manual says don't use solvents to wash the cable nor lubricants on the inner cable. There are pages to read on the throttle body. Let us know how you go.

When available I use Venhill Nylon lined cables from England.
They suggest getting the little split cable luber which clamps to the cable end and lets you attach a pressure pack and force something through the cable. If adjustment is slackened right off they can usually be used without disconnecting the cable ends.
Their suggestion is first a cleaner like WD40 then a spray lube of your choice. I use Inox, not sticky which might attract dust in my dry clime.
When plastic lining was first used in cables around 50 years ago the advice was the same as REs, no cleaner or lube was required or permitted as they attacked the plastic lining.
But the lining material was soon changed to something solvent and lube proof which could be serviced if / when required, and yours probably can and need to be too!

Thanks Robbi. I have tried WD40 on the cables but no luck. I do have a bit of mechanical skill but just on 70's Triumphs, cables and carbies i can do but fuel injection i have never looked at. Will try a disassemble on the throttle and cables and see if that works. Appreciate your input
