I know, I know, Yuasa. But here's the thing, the Yuasa YTX9-BS is like $70 on Amazon, and there are a plethora of other options. The problem with Amazon, of course, is that there are also a plethora of bullshit paid reviews.

So what's your real experience recommendation for a replacement battery that isn't from Yuasa (or Lithium. Let's stick lead acid for this thread.)

I buy Yuasa's house brand, Motocross. Same battery, different label.

I see that they're out of stock now, but I usually pay $49 or less. Google around a bit and you can find it from other sellers.

Looked around and it appears your inside tip might’ve leaked. I’m seeing $50-$60 on the Motocross version of the Yuasa pretty much everywhere. Some are a bit cheaper, but shipping puts them right up there with a branded Yuasa battery.

Yeah sorry. Something going on with batteries at the moment. I had a helluva time getting a KLR battery in for the last few weeks.
Absolutely no worries. I’m just collecting info to put into my pocket for the future anyways. I’m honestly on the fence about going with a Lithium battery when the time comes.

After replacing a battery while on the road auto zone was my choice they had an agm on the shelf a pia to install you almost need a shoe horn. Next it will be a lithium for me smaller easier to fit more cca some have low voltage shutdown its a no Brainerd for me. Ps the oem battery will let you down guarantee you won't be at home then the fun starts. Every one likes a circus except the guy that has to shovel up when its over

Hello, just saw your post. purchased a battery this past Dec. from walmart online. it's a ytx9-bs sla for a gsxr750 from 97-99 for $27.99 if you haven't purchased one yet. it's a tight fit, but it works. rode the bike a few times before putting the bike away for the winter. tomorrow I'll be taking her back out. just checked. it's a mighty max brand.

That's the exact one I've been eying on Amazon. Please let us know how it held up over the winter.

I had it on a battery tender. A few times, went out and started it. I'll be commuting to work in a couple of days. will update my findings.

Well, I rode the past couple of days to work. Pulled the "choke," or what ever you call it, and the bike started up. let it warm up while I was putting on my gear, including ear plugs and heated gloves, and away I went. left the bike out in the driveway for the next day, same routine. hope this answered your inquiry. by the way, my garage is unheated, the the temps. here have fluctuated between the 20's and 30's.

Yup, that's more than enough to make me go with the $28 Mighty Max battery over the seemingly identical $68 Yuasa. TYVM for sharing!

you're welcome, you shouldn't have any issues, Georgia doesn't get the extreme weather as much as NY does. in fact we're going to be getting some balmy weather later this week. still got patches of snow on my lawn.

Yeah, I understand. I'm a transplant from Mass. Dunno if I could survive NE winters after almost two decades down here.
