Belt Drive for Meteor? I Sure Hope So!

₹15,990.00 INR is about $202 US (very reasonable). Bandito's Pitstop lists fittings for the Classic, Thunderbird, Thunderbird X -350 CC, Standard, Electra -350 CC, and Thunderbird X -350 CC Double Disc Hub models. Are any of these models comparable to the Meteor 350?

I think converting to belt drive would be a real plus. I liked my old shaft drive Suzuki. I never had to think about chain maintenance (and no oil-sling on the rear wheel to clean up).
I agree. My old Kawasaki Vulcan 500 had a belt drive and it was great.....very quiet and basically maintenance free!

I believe the Thunderbird was the predecessor to the Meteor.

I sent the following email:

Hello Bandido's Pitstop,
Do you sell a Legundary belt drive system for the 2022 Meteor 350 and Classic 350? Please send details about the proper kit model and shipping to the United States. Also, do you have an installation video on your YouTube channel? Thank you.

Reply from Bandido's Pitstop:

Love the casual way they grind away the crankcase ribs. o_O

No explanation how they held the pulley to torque the mainshaft nut.
It just seemed to magic itself on there.

I think you could hold the crank with a socket wrench through the case access hole in the left side cover. Grinding on the case is a bit crude. I would use a Dremel instead of an angle grinder with a cutoff wheel :censored: The conversion does eliminate chain maintenance, but belt installation/replacement is pretty involved. It's a nice setup, but I will wait until these drives have been around for a while and are more common for the Enfields.

Waiting for a conversion set for the Himmy - that would be great.
If Harleys don't destroy belt drives then the Himmy shouldn't be a problem.
Easy way to torque up the mainshaft - take out the spark plug and shove a hardwood dowel in, or is that me being rough again?

I only found an old version on ebay which is not engraved and rivetted. Not sure about it's origin as well.
I requested Mtechnics via whattsap to send me an paypal invoice to my mail adress.
Hope this works.
