This was just a trial to buy from India and due to Covid 19 will not be normal (I hope) but I wanted some gaiters for the front forks and decided to order the cheapest kit I could find on E-bay. This was about the 26th March. Paid £13,45, free post, and was given a delivery date between April and 1st June. For such a low price I was not too worried but kept a eye on the tracking and eventually the parcel appeared at Delhi and was scanned into a container on 19th June. It arrived here by post on 8th July and I have now fitted them. They arrived in a sealed bag with another sealed bag containing the clips, screws and nuts. Plus full instructions. They appear to be genuine RE parts. What kind of delivery time can I expect if/when things return to normal?

Before the COVID thing hit I was getting stuff in the 3 to 10 day range. The shorter times were from higher volume vendors closer to transportation hubs and the longer times were smaller vendors further out.

Depends on where you are and how the vendor sends it - I ordered a rack from Enfield Country? a couple of weeks ago .
$A 90- including shipping and it arrived in Oz in four days,
But $40- of the price was for express shipping charges.
Others were selling the same rack for a few bucks less, plus $14- for postage, which would probably take considerably longer!

Hitchcock's prices and shipping are not the cheapest, but you are probably going to be happy with the product and the service.

Air freight is still moving, you must have been lucky that your parcel arrived at the airport just before a frieghter left.

Be very careful when ordering bits from India...I ordered a set of hand guards for my Himalayan £43 ..after they arrived I got a bill from FEDEX for £ 20 import duty ..and you have no way of knowing how much your going to be charged when you place your order ..its a lot of money almost half the price , i wouldn't have sent for them if i had known 🤬

I have been ripped of by Fedex too, here in Oz.
They claimed I was importing commercial quantities and charged me a $120- opening and valuation fee , assessed the value of goods at five times what I paid for them and charged me GST/VAT on the assessed value, postage and their fee, and refused to release the goods until I paid.
Given the shipment was one pair of slacks and one sweater how they arrived at "commercial quantities" was any ones guess, but now I just refuse to deal with anyone who uses Fedex!
Just received a pair of levers from FXCNC in China - estimated delivery was 1st to 28 th Sept so they did well!

I rang them & they said £10 odd v.a.t ..then a charge of £12 they said was to get the parcel through customs ...not convinced...sent them an email saying I,ll pay the v.a.t & nothing else ..

India seems to be all but shut down now so I will just ride the bike and not worry about the few bits I wanted.
I just ordered 10 oil filters from India, and like many have said here, got them super fast. The order from Scotland... took a month and a half, but it was TNT/FedEx and kept getting lost. Did finally show, however, in decent shape. Go figure.

Update ...got on to FEDEX and again said NO ...I will not pay that £12 your asking for ...next day they got back saying .." we have reconsidered & dropped the £12 charge " ..

FWIW, I've had the best success from seller royalenfieldking, and the worst from seller vintagebikecountry. Even if royalenfieldking doesn't have something listing you need, send them a message and they'll create a listing for you. Their prices are a few $$$ more than the others, but parts arrive in 5 days, rather than a month plus. vintagebikecountry will accept your order and payment 2 weeks before they even get their hands on your part. Avoid them at all costs.

Yes royal Enfield king are good as you can see from my post above I've had a right problem with FEDEX & my parcel was from royal Enfield king . I text them telling them the problems with FEDEX and they said they wouldn't be using them anymore ..
