Can you identify this rack ?

Looks like the standard Classic rear rack. Which also readily fits the Bullet supplied seat but not so readily, the Bullet touring seat. KXA00091 Add, I bought mine through the dealership and they were still on the shelf in Dallas a month or so ago. Further add, USD76.99 plus state tax.

Thanks Woodstock. I looked through all the RE accessories and didn’t see it. What’s the problem with the Touring seat ? I noticed in the photo that the bolts seemed to be pulling out the seat padding.

Yeah, things disappear on the web. I emphasize I have a Bullet. A rack was listed as a Bullet accessory when the Bullet was first launched here in the USA but was not listed when I went to buy the rack. So I took a punt it was the Classic rack when I bought the Bullet touring seat. The Bullet touring seat is just wider at the rear with extra padding so it does not readily allow the rack to fit though others here managed it. I was supplied with sleeves rolling around in the seat box that fitted through the vinyl seat cover but others here did not get the sleeves. And the instructions for fitting the sleeves I found did not match how the preinstalled sleeves on the original seat seem to fit. In the end, I fitted the touring seat and left off the rack though if it is not a vast improvement I will go back to the old narrower seat and fit the rack. I tend to use the rack on my Interceptor a lot.

How about the original hand rail, does it fit on the Touring seat ?

Yes. And repeating from another thread but the grab rail has recesses for the sleeves, the rack does not, so it stays in place when you take off the touring seat. I can't really remember but I have an inkling it separated when removing the original seat.

So I assume the recesses allow the tightening of the bolt without disturbing the upholstery ? Do you think there was another rack available for the touring seat or is the Classic rack the only one RE made ? Would machining a recess into the rack make any difference ?
I’ll be curious to hear your feedback on the comfort of the touring vs stock seat.

It works with the recesses. There is this schematic on Hitchcocks. Hitchcocks Motorcycles | Partsbook Page: Seat This is not my field but even following the pictures -- how hard can that be? -- it seems to disagree with the PDF instructions I found for the rack as to how it all fits together. REAR RACK, BLACK The Bullet service manual had slightly different torques listed. I do know that I first put the sleeves in as I thought they matched the original seat, and I thought it was a better fit, but I went with what the instructions seemed to say by consensus.

I can't say for sure there was not a separate rack available for the Bullet but whether it was designed for the touring seat is another question. I only know my dealership also saw a rack listed on my first pass for accessories but then agreed it had gone from the page when I actually wanted to buy one. The Classic rack works fine with the original seat. See pics. I don't have pics of when I put the rack on the frame without the seat but it all lines up well.

Yes, hollowing out recesses on the rack is on the agenda but not for now. I don't know why they aren't there. But even if there are recesses, pushing the rack over the sleeve heads may require a third hand. The touring seat has more padding. And if I go back to the original seat hollowing out recesses, may be unnecessary. The bolts supplied with the rack are 5mm longer than the ones supplied on the bike to hold the grabrail.

The other Bullet seat commentary when fitting to the Classic is here. What have you done to your Classic today | Page 15 | Royal Enfield Owners Forum Start around page 15, I believe.

I'll see how the touring seat is. Others like it, see last thread mentioned above. I need to do a 300-mile day but that will not be happening soon now the weather is coming in. I didn't find the stock Bullet seat bad so I don't know that it will be a huge jump in comfort such as I found when replacing the stock Interceptor seat with the puffy touring seat. I say puffy as there are a few touring seats for the Interceptor. But that change was night and day. I also did not find the Interceptor seat so bad until maybe the 250 mile mark but now I never even think about the seat.

just got this response from Hitchcock:

The official RE 350 Classic Reborn rack is not a direct fit to the 350 Bullet (the spacing and angles of the mounting points differ). The only option we have specific to the 2023on 350 Bullet is the type shown on the link below:

The Bullet Touring seat may be wider for the rider section, but the original grab rail is reused so the width in these key areas remains the same. The rack shown on the link above mounts off these exact same areas of the grab rail, so the fitment should be identical whether you have the touring seat or standard seat on your bike.

Royal Enfield themselves do not currently offer a rack for this model, and I am not aware of one due out.

Interesting and good to know. They would know. Add, the classic rack will line up. I didn't see an issue with the bolts off angle, but I did not tighten them all the way when I checked the fit without the seat. Someone here did mention getting the last bolt in was tight. Other add, is I don't know why the Givi rack is bolted together? Would not suit me personally based on looks but perhaps it allows for another accessory??

I think it’s designed for the Givi Top Box.

Laboring the point but I've thought more about this. I'm sure Hitchcocks has had a good look at this but check the vlog where the guy changes to the Bullet seat on the Classic and how he works out the frame. I'm still thinking it fits.

I've had at least 3 of these racks break in the same spot, right where it bolts on the right side of the pillion seat. I went with the Givi rear luggage rack and its much sturdier
BTW - Stock photo, not my bike

The Classic rack works fine with the original seat
But Hitchcocks says it doesn't?

It sounds like it does, but not easily enough for them to recommend (or sell)?

To be honest the RE one is a bit small, though. Ideally what I want is one that's big enough, and flat, so that I can put a small Craven topbox on it if I want.

It seems in India they have no end of choice over this kind of thing on the Bullet, but over here (UK for me) the Classic has lots of options, but not so the Bullet :(

I guess the Classic is the much more common bike here.

A perfect option inserted here... They only deliver to India...
