Proactively, I replaced the clutch cable at 35k miles. The replacement lasted 3200 miles. Easily replaced with the OEM took kit. Highly recommended that you carry one with you.
Does that mean that the replacement failed after 3200 miles? If so that must of been depressing. I hope that didn't strand you. Exactly the same in Australia, 1 throttle cable, 1 clutch cable, 1 tube, and in addition to small tool kit, also a small first aid kit, and user manual. In the old days when RE was imported to the US privately the bike came new with a spare set of cables and a tube. But then their was only the Bullet with 19” wheels front and back.
