Delhi and Rishikesh….looking for ideas….Nov 16 to 21st

Hi.
I’m an Interceptor rider from Australia heading to India for some riding adventure.

From Nov 3 to Nov 15 we are riding with a tour group in Rajasthan, and returning to Old Delhi.

From the Nov 16 to Nov 21 we have time to hire bikes and head into the Himalayas. 2 riders.
We are both road riders and not looking for extreme off roading.

We are planning to hire bikes in Old Delhi and ride to Rishikesh, Lansdowne and back to Delhi.

With the time we have is this a good loop?
Should we do a bigger loop?
Do we have enough time or not enough time.

Looking for locals advise.

The photo is my Interceptor, Gold Coast, Australia.

Thanks.

I can’t help you with the Rishikesh trip but kindly bear the following in mind
A) get the bikes well serviced and checked

B) kindly avoid eating too adventurously and getting loosies - I see too many westerners eat at joints most of us won’t eat at and regret it. Anything hot cooked and fresh will generally be ok

C) head on a swivel on the road - idiots may drive on the wrong side and expect you to move

D) someone flashing your headlight at you means get out of the way not like the UK where it means they are letting you pass

E) watch out for scams at petrol pumps.

the route to Rishikesh tends to get a lot of rain and road conditions can change drastically. Rajasthan has great roads but sand drifts near the dunes and antelopes on the road are all too common. Have fun

Ps- Added the route map as per google, you will be passing mainly through Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. The law and order situation is better now than ever before but for heck’s sake use common sense and avoid driving after dark. In case you have time, try to add Corbett national park to your trip in case interested in wildlife.
