Finally....Fuel X Lite Install, Interceptor 650

I have just purchased a FuelX Lite for my Euro 5 2024 Interceptor, but I'm a bit nervous about fitting it myself. I was going to get my "local" (45 miles away) RE mechanic to fit it, but he is snowed under with work at this time of year - he will do it, but can't give me a slot at the moment. Can anybody reassure me that has fitted one themselves? Is it straightforward? Can I really do it without completely removing the tank? Anybody got a guide with pictures?
And what is it like getting to the battery terminal?

I fitted the pro version over a year ago, can't remember the exact details but it didn't present any difficulties. Just read the instructions several times, have a good look before you start and maybe take some pictures. Be methodical and double check everything. The trickiest bit is removing the tank - the buttons to release the fuel pipe are tricky to press - check out YouTube for details on that so you know what to expect - don't force anything.
Good luck

I am not very confident of my abilities, especially in relation to electrics, so I have entrusted the task to my local RE technician, the guy who services the bike. He is fitting it for me on the 9th September. As his hourly rate is about the same as mine, I can be profitably engaged on what I do best, and pay him to do what he does best! He says he has fitted several, and like Lavrentyuk, he is going to fit it where the toolbag sits.

Took me a while to decide where to place the control box - finally I went with behind the toolkit holder, wires facing up. Not much space under the seat otherwise.
Without reigniting a separate discussion, if folks are looking for space under the seat ... consider getting a lifepo4 battery. They are dramatically smaller and all come with a stack of spacers to make up the difference. Perfect place for a project box to house various electronic devices.

I found it relatively easy to wedge it behind the air box wrapped in some pu foam, keeps it snug and protects it from vibration. I've a pro so I put the button under the toolkit - once you've found the right setting the switch is irrelevant.

I believe from what I have read that the Lite is effectively on setting 6 out of 10 on the Pro, where the standard setting is 3. And I guess there is also auto adaptation from this base setting. I am just trying to richen the mixture slightly to compensate for the DNA filter and Powerage silencers, as I was told at the 3k service that the bike was running a bit lean.

I see you're in Carmarthen

Weirdly only half of that post appeared. I'm up the road near Lampeter - which mechanic are you using please? Wife has also just acquired a new Enfield.
I use Hooch at Monster Motorcycles in Waterston near Milford Haven - about 45 miles from me, but well worth the trip. I bought my Ducati Monster 1000Sie from Alun next door to MM at Celtic Scooters and Motorcycles, and Hooch looks after that as well - he is a Ducati factory trained mechanic, and does all the RE servicing for Alun's customers next door - he is an RE dealer. I highly recommend Hooch, his charges are reasonable and he does an excellent job. He is always busy, which is a good sign!

I'm afraid I won't let Hooch near any of my bikes ever again. I took my, bought new from Celtic, Interceptor in there for warranty work on a failing Regulator/Rectifier and he butchered it badly. Installed an R/R from a different bike altogether, butchered the wiring, bypassed the fusebox. Never again. So hacked off that when we were buying an Enfield for my better half recently we went over a hundred miles away just to avoid. I was hoping you had another in the area.

Oh dear. That was a very bad experience. Sorry to hear that. I haven't had anything like that happen, perhaps I've been lucky. Where did you go for the second RE? I bought my Interceptor from Appleyards and had it delivered.

Went to the Potteries - whilst I am quite able to service it myself it would be good to keep the warranty going - hence my hope of an alternative. Not keen on M&P but there is always the Port Talbot dealer.
