Beautiful machine you have. Of all the color schemes, this one is my favorite (my son's as well).

I notice that you have the touring seat...is it a noticeably more comfortable over the stock seat?

I also notice that you have Rhino Racing slip-ons. Do they drone at all and if so, what rpm range?
When I bought the bike they gave me 25% off all accessories. I had them install the touring windshield seat and backrest. Also had them install YSS shocks. Once I had the shocks dialed in, I don't think about the shocks or the seat. Never road a SM any real distance with the stock seat. The Rhinos can be irritating on a long ride with no baffles at highway speed. Not too bad with a Shoei Neotec 3 with earplugs. With baffles in they are a little louder than stock.

I wanted to do Mount Evans (now Mount Blue Sky), but we had to select 1 so I selected Pikes Peak. It looks as if the views from Mount Evans are just as incredible as those from Pikes Peak.

Do you have any more pics of your bike on Mount Evans?
Here's a few. Didn't get any pictures of the goats, but they are there.IMG_1547.jpegIMG_1546.jpegIMG_1545.jpegIMG_1543.jpeg

If you look at the picture that shows the saddlebag stays where you can read the words "Auto Engina", you can see mid-footpegs on the bike. I bought 1.5" x 1.5" mild steel angle iron, measured everything out, cut them, drilled them and then mounted the rear footpegs onto them. They are attached to the frame using 2 M8x1.25x30mm and 50mm (I think). A tiny dab of blue threadlocker on each. The brackets are unfinished (shaping, sanding and painting) because my son wanted to wait to see if he liked them before we put the extra work into them. He absolutely loves them. We both spent many minutes per day standing on our mid footpegs to cool our behinds.

I can't take credit for the idea...I got it from a member on this forum...LNK. Here is the page to what he did and how he did it.

That is the factory touring screen. https://www.royalenfield.com/in/en/gma/touring-screen-kxa00224/
We did buy the Givi backrest with luggage rack though. https://accessories.hitchcocksmotorcycles.com/49211?cont_page=Royal-Enfield-650-Super-Meteor-Accessories&category=sub11

When we first put the touring screen on, he did not like it as it blocked enough wind that he no longer felt its cooling effect. He has since grown to like it as he can tuck behind it during rainy rides. He is all about keeping the look of the bike as close to factory as possible.

Funny that you should mention an 850...S&S cycle makes a 750 and 865 kit. Hitchcocks offers the 865 kit with the machined cylinder body...literary a bolt on kit. Other things would have to be upgraded as well...most likely intake, exhaust, head work, tuner, clutch, etc. I think that an 865 would not even know that the mountain was there.

I would just like to see an production OEM validated version of that 865cc. S&S has a disclaimer on theirs. Not enough sold I don't think to get a feel for reliability and durability. Would be perfect though.
