As the title says, I have a modified Himalayan gear lever - it is 50-55mm longer than standard, that's 2" in real measurements, some of us have size 13 feet :)
It does not come with the rubber in the photo it is pictured with an original to give an example of the overall size.

I will happily post for free to the UK or you come to collect from Leigh - near Manchester UK

Hello, I have a shifter on order so I can modify it. I wear size 14 boots so I have the same problem as you.
I interested to know if the angles and length you used worked for you or there any tweaks you would make?

Take care,
Gerald

RE changed the lever at some point, current stock have a wider pivot boss with a nylon bush and a longer, slightly smaller diameter pivot bolt which is not in the kit.
Dont know when the change happened , so might be worth a check to see if you have the bush.
Nothing a sharp 1/2" drill and angle grinder can't sort but you will be using the old worn bolt so the later bolt would be better.
3/4" Gates heater hose fits neatly over the peg if you find it a bit small, Motul 7100 at the correct level smooths the change---!

My Himalayan was a late Euro IV registered October 2021, so the later design gear lever with the wider boss. Go onto the Hitchcocks website it will give the dimensions for both. I bought a new gear lever, cut the end off that held the peg that holds the rubber and grafted on 100mm of steel. Same dimensions as the original, then drilled and tapped 6mm holes every 20mm. fitted a cap head Allen bolt and went for a ride. And another ride, and another, and another for 1,000 miles until I was comfortable. Then cut it down to size and welded the original peg into the correct hole.
No special angles nothing clever.

Fortunately TEC do adjustable gear levers and brake levers for the Interceptor.

Beats me why manufacturers think that Pixies ride motorcycles, same goes for clothing manufacturers - to match the generous sized feet I have hands that would shame a gorilla, 5 accessories shops before I got gloves to that I could get my hands into.
When it comes to boots :ROFLMAO: Eventually once he had stopped laughing a chap in an accessories shop suggested Altberg, who measure your foot and then give you the good news that your instep is also huge (not just the width of your foot) and that the selection of boots is limited to two, but at least they didn't laugh

Thank you so much for the detailed information, stepping the holes is a great idea for test fitting.
I don’t know why they just can’t make the levers adjustable or at least give us the option of purchasing longer ones.
As far as sizing goes, I’m lucky as I hit the outer limits of most manufacturers, although I have to find them online and cross my fingers after looking at all the sizing charts.

Take care,

When I was resident in Edinburgh over 60 years ago we had a Shoemaker, Peebles who had traded from the same store in the Grassmarket for around 200 years , and they took a plaster cast of your foot and used it to make a last specifically for you.
So dad with is size 13s and two crushed toes was a eager customer.
I was happy with their standard fittings , still have my 50 year old Veldschoen with waterproof Zug Leather and Itshide Commando soles. Seen out nine dogs----!
An inmate on our local Netrider forum has a shoe store and recently bonded on soles/heels for me, but Vibram this time.
Read somewhere Hoggs in Fife still offer the cast service, might be a good excuse for a run North in the spring - last week in May/ first in June was my fav time!

I have no idea Gerald, I wear size 11 uk boots and this works, I didn't mod it the guy I got it off did, but by the looks of it it has been extended by about 1", cut and welded.

I hope this helps
