Himalayan Fuel Pump Electric Motor – Home of the 477 Big Bore

ships from India.
I bought one of these that works great although mine and some others that have bought them experience fuel flowing through them when disconnecting the gas line to remove the tank. Not a problem if you carry a rubber plug to put over the end when disconnecting it. Odd thing was when I initially installed it it was fine.I bought this one on Ebay from China. $17.88 USD and it worked great.

Apparently something is different here because when I put my OEM pump back in again it was fine with no flow.Shouldn't the pressure regulator stop the flow, they are usually just a ball valve held by a tiny coil spring, and it is normal practice to replace / check the pressure regularly.
On some BMW's the regulator is combined with the fuel filter to ensure that you do.

Was that a whole pump assy or just the motor being switched out?Apparently something is different here because when I put my OEM pump back in again it was fine with no flow.
Just the motor. Was that a whole pump assy or just the motor being switched out?
Interesting. Curious as to why the fuel doesn't cut off with that pump installed.Just the motor.
Thanks for the interesting and informative article. Kind of explains why there are failures with the RE Keihn pumps.Interesting article which may have some bearing on selecting alternative fuel pumps (I'm not obsessing over this, honestly):

There is a Check Valve in the Pump/motor outlet but I imagine it works the opposite way and would allow fuel to flow when the line is removed.Shouldn't the pressure regulator stop the flow, they are usually just a ball valve held by a tiny coil spring, and it is normal practice to replace / check the pressure regularly.
