High Speed Miss on Classic 350

Im over the 2k mark on the 350 and now getting into riding it a little harder, and she likes to be revved, not pussyfooted. This is now the 3rd time I'm feeling what appears to be a high speed miss or possibly a fuel starvation issue (I think it misfires). It's basically a hiccup in the 50-55 mph range, not all the time but like I mentioned this is about the third time I felt it.

Anyone else experience this? Might be time to have the dealer look at it

2k miles on it, good job.👍

Have you looked at all your fuel line to make sure nothing is pinched or has a kink in it? I run premium fuel about every forth tank to make sure fuel injectors stay clean.

I'll have a peek, but me thinks its something else.
I've passed on the premium fuel. I went thru about 4 tank fulls' of it and to be honest I think it runs better with the regular 87 octane. Secondly, I'm pretty sure in India these things probably run on monkey piss. LOL

Had the same problem with my meteor. At 3300 miles I had to have the ignition switch changed. When you have the key in and wiggle it, if there is alot of movement in the assembly It will lose contact at times. I have had it happen a tew times on my classic too. I am waiting for a replacement for it. It is covered under warranty!

Thanks for the heads up, Ill wiggle the switch while I'm driving and see if it happens. Not sure why it only happens at 50-55mph
Good to know this forum is getting some traction and people are posting. There is another Enfield forum out there thats kinda dead

The code will show an EFI issue. I only had a code once, all the other times no code. You can't make the miss happen, if it persists change out the ignition switch.

The meteor service manual says minimum of 91 octane gas, it would be interesting give it a try. Here in Brazil all RE received a new ie map to run with 87 octane fuel.

Maybe check coil connections, spark plug gap, general wiring connections. Someone found a connector that was not properly locked in headlight area, it would be interesting to check it too.

Looks like I am either going to have to investigate it myself or be w/o the bike for a couple of days if I drop it off at the dealer. Took a nice cruise today at the bike was acting up again at around 55-60. The miss, when it was happening today was pretty bad

BTW - Im just a couple a hundred miles short of 3k

It really shouldn't happen in a brand new bike, so do a simple check just if you want to, if not unfortunately the only way is to take it to the dealer... and pray :(

Just dropped it off at the dealer. The service "manager" didn't really give me the warm and fuzzies. Might be time to start doing the prayer thing,
But in all honesty I think they're gonna be able to fix me up. Im surprised they didnt tell me its time for the 3k service, which it is :)

Ok, well I got the bike back. Tech was unable to find the problem or any problems for that matter. I did have a nice discussion with the service manager and he recommended I use at least a mid grade fuel according to RE, that would be 89 Octane here in the USA so that's what I will be using from now on. We'll see
I had the 3k service done while it was there. Oil, filter, chain and clutch adjustment, lube the stands, blah blah blah.
Took the bike on a 15 mile ride home.. Could be me but it seems to be running with a little more pep. (y)
Next 4 days are gonna be a wash with the remnants of Ian coming thru so wont b able to crank up the mileage until next week. Which comes to remind me - Hunting season is right around the corner
