The Zana racks are pretty good value for money, but then the OEM ones on Ebay are pretty close to the same price. The Zana racks are pretty sturdy. I really like what you have done. The RE embellishments really set it apart. Are the extra brackets to support the top rack a kit or something you fabbed up? how are they mounted to the top rack?
Fabbed up. Here's a link to my post on advrider when I did it . I tried to recreate the post in the tech section here for future reference but it complained about it being over 1000 characters. I'll probably end up making an aluminum plate for under the rear box at some point just to make the mounting more rigid.
Yeah I’ve had the large ones on my AT for couple years (with a new desert tan powder coat finish from the start) and my son had them on his KLR for years.
They are Tusk medium panniers, not Happy Trails. Just the mounting kit is Happy Trails. Cheapest place for the panniers now is eBay. Mine have several coats of satin clear coat over the normally gloss finish.
Lol, totally spaced that reading it. I have to admit I like the happy trails also. I am more in search of a smaller aluminum top box for a reasonable price. The search is on. I really like the Givi one, seems to be the right size but too much cash for me. Thanks again... I really need to learn to absorb and pay attention to what I read.

I understand. I used to think they were over priced until I compared their construction and leather quality choices with other competitors. It is heavier leather than most and yet the same price as certain name brands which are selling inferior leather but charging you for the branding.Those look good.
