I think the Op was really asking which manual to believe, as you say in the latest release the IN is simply at the tight end of the original manual, whereas EX is significantly tighter than the original manual.@Dool2 - The illustrations maybe incorrect, but the manual is for the LS410 (see bottom of page). Bad documentation strikes again.
Be that as it may be, the OP was asking about proper valve clearances. The numbers that he quoted are correct, and work ok. The intake is simply at the tight end of the spec, which is fine. The tighter spec for the exhaust that others have stated is a bit too tight IMHO, but I think it's an attempt to reduce the Himalayan rattle that is so common. I would go with what the manual states and have a little rattle, than too tight and risk burning a valve.
FWIW I use 0.8 - 0.10mm IN and 0.2 - 0.23mm EX without issues.
