OK, so 110 miles today at 70 mpg.
If you are wanting a Ninja out of your Himalayan then this ain't going to get you there, what it will get you is a smile above 4000 rpm, it pulls great and I was able to blast up hills in 4th that I would have been in 3rd for.
It feels much crisper with even a sharper exhaust note.
In the twisty mountain roads, I rode it had me almost boy racing rather than the usual putt-putt.
I have a 40 tooth rear sprocket on and with this cam it felt about perfect.
Will it pull 75mph on the Interstate all day long? I very much doubt it but I never got this bike to do that cause it's fucking boring.
You guys do know that a lot of the speedos on these bikes are between 7 and 10 mph too fast right?
I'm more than happy I have installed the cam and thank Hitchcocks for having it available.

So, less than 3 1/2 HP increase for both without exhaust mods,
So more like 15% with the generally accepted 21 hp stock.
Amazing how the curves for the stock bike are so different - you would think they are totally different motors!
The Dynojet one looks like the bike wasn't strapped down tight enough and the rear wheel was slipping then catching up again!

Different dynomometors for sure.
Another thing is the fewer the cylinders the more obvious the power strokes are in the curves.
Filtering settings can smooth that out. Or not. Depends on the dyno operator on the control panel at the time.

Edit to add: I'm sorry Roy I posted without finishing what I was gonna say in reply to the two Dyno charts looking like two totally different motors.

Absent from the charts is any indication of level of smoothing and SAE or STD correction factors.

Bummer I know right. Tried like crazy to order one and by the time they fixed the website to allow ordering from usa,,,the cams were gone.

Crying shame too because I want to do back to back comparison runs of TEC and Hitchcock's cams on my one trip to the dyno.

Speaking of which DHL is scheduled to deliver a big ol' box of Hitchcock goodies today.

Wow looks like some heavy duty gear in the pics. What all did you get and what mods are you planning ?
462 piston & cylinder kit, Powertronic pre mapped for the 462, Bar mounted map switch, Hitchcocks cam, all the gaskets for install, 60 mm taller windshield. Not planning any other powertrain mods.

If the goal was highest power or bragging rights things could be done like flow bench port & polish the head, back cut the valve stems, 5 angle the valve faces & seats, raise the compression, mod the Inlet and exhaust, dope some high octane fuel, adjust the dynos settings. Not interested in that.

This is to see for myself, to satisfy my curiosity, for the fun and adventure of exploring the plusses and minuses of what can be had for this bike right out of a catalog.

I'll take it to a reputable dyno shop but not for the TQ and HP numbers. For tuning the fuel and ignition maps for smoothest running, best efficiency for happiest riding. Depending on how much time is left after the maps are refined I'll test a couple bits to satisfy my curiosity about what effect they might have.

OK, I have the Hitchcocks cam fitted, Probably one of the first to fit it in the UK. Does it work? YES it definitely does. Totally transformed my bike into what it should have been. Doesnt turn it into tyre shredding monster but the extra HP and, more importantly, Torque make for a much better ride. Test ride after fitting, around local roads I'm well used to. On hills that I would hit at 60mph and be doing 50 at the top she will now be hitting 70 at the top pulling strongly all the way. That alone justifies the cam for me. Normal riding on the back roads is much more relaxed with nowhere near as many gear changes needed. Stock 410, Boosterplug, Delkevic exhaust and my own version of the filter plate. Ticks all my boxes and the best money I've ever spent;)
