Homemade Classic 650?

Kind of out there troops but seeing as the Classic 650 official version may never appear does anyone have any thoughts on modifying an Interceptor into a faux Classic?
My thoughts are modifying either 500 or 350 fenders to fit and a seat pan sprung single seat.
Am I insane? Probably, but any thoughts would be appreciated.
Cheers

Custom work is good for the soul, but before you touch the tools or click that BUY button I'd try mocking up a photo using whatever software is available, even if it's MSpaint you can open several instances of the program and cut/resize appropriately and paste parts from one bike photo onto another. Once you like the look you can begin to determine if parts will fit without much modification. After that it might be time to go shopping. Asking around for a measurement from members with other bike models may be a good option.

If I had an INT and a Classic to spare I'd definitely be already swapping things around to see what needs modifying.

The SM/SG chassis feels way too bulky for me compared to the narrower seating on the Interceptor/GT frame. I sit on an INT in the showroom and I wish I were a little taller or the seat a little shorter for this otherwise nicely sized ride, while on the SM I feel like it's a BIG bike that will be a pain to try and hustle around even if I were taller and I don't like it at all.

Interceptor with a springer seat, Classic style front headlight bezel and rear fender, and some bottle-type silencers to finish it up. I'd buy it if RE made it. If I ever get the parts for cheap, I would be trying to make one myself.

There's a thread on here somewhere that has a Youtube video I posted put out by Volcanic Brown about the rumoured 650 Classic. He's doing a similar diy build using Enfield parts.

Just for some background here troops.
I have a classic 500 that am taking on a road trip this week so that will be the litmus test for anything ongoing. If the 500 trip astounds me then the status quo will prevail, should it not measure up it will head to the sales barn and I will source out an Interceptor and start looking for fenders.
Will keep ya posted.

I think the Shotgun is already most of a 650 Classic - it’s as if RE introduced the stripped down version first, before the bike the Shotgun is based on. The SG is pretty much a 19” front wheel, a set of fuller fenders and a more conventional paint scheme away from being a Classic 650.

Ok, update from the insane asylum.
Sold the classic 500.
Found a set of classic 500 fenders and bought them along with a seat...just because they were cheap.
Found a 2020 Interceptor and bargained down to a good price.
Have started stripping down the Interceptor to offer up the Classic parts.
Caveat...I am by no means a mechanical genius so this will be a slow, painful experience. Fortunatly I live in Thailand so parts are cheap.
More to follow...I hope.

Keep me ionformed on this. If you find a cheap and easy way to relocate the foot pegs forward on a Conti/Int then I'm all ears and looking at following your footsteps.

Because the SG/SM chassis is way too wide for a man of my stature, an INT based Classic would fit my personal niche exactly. I have a Classic and am willing to buy an Int...

If you look closely Smiles there are hiway pegs on the engine bars and they are absolutely amazing! Night and day for comfort, takes all the strain off your hands and arms.

I have a wrecked interceptor and a big pile of Bullet parts.
Then the Shotgun came out.
After studying the crap out of pictures I believe that using the Shotgun as starting point will be the easier route and make a more proper "Bullet 650"
