Hi there. Started last winter with my Himalyan after the 60th-birthday-journey from Germany to Cape Town on my??? Guess... of course, a BMW 1200 ADV. Great motorcycle, fantastic tour - but I figured out that I do not need 120 hp and close to 300kg. So while planning the next trip I was looking for a more conveniend bike and stepped on the Himalayan. One long weekend of hard testing with all the luggage and my girlfriend: thats it, the best one world, around the world bike for me. Next week 15.000km service and looking forward for more.

Congrats. on the new bike. If you don't mind me asking, how much extra weight was on the bike? heard too much weight will affect the performance of her. (the bike) :)

I assume...about 110-120 kg (girlfriend + equipment 4 two). The performance is still ok then, but the mainstand starts srcatching in every turn and the rear suspension is close to the limit I think.
