Getting there...

Hi all,
Myself and my Fiancee will soon be hitting the road for a year of travelling - Leaving Ireland and heading to Mongolia, SE Asia and hopefully ending up in Japan.

We have chosen two Himalayan 411s as the bikes for the trip and put a few miles on since picking them up last year!

While I have the hard panniers on mine, unfortunately I don't have a set for my Fiancees bike, I've been keeping an eye on the usual ebay etc, but have not gotten lucky yet, so I figured I'd ask here if anyone is selling the rack+panniers, or has any other luggage recommendations.

Similarly if anyone has anything like tubes, or other useful accessories for such a trip, let me know :)

Many thanks,
Stephen

Reach out to thecivvie or if he comes in, he may read your post. Not that he may have anything to sell but he may have useful input.

Have you considered soft luggage? Lomo make some quality gear, fully waterproof too.

Itchy Boots switched to soft luggage on her Himalayan for her second series, in preference to the hard cases

Ah don't get me started 😂😂 hard luggage is the way to go, I have 2 offs, one in Russia and the second in Georgia. First off, the hard luggage saved me, I was concussed for about 2 days and my helmet was cracked.

I found that it was easier to buy clothes as needed so take less.

And post here about it 😉😉
