My View on the Interceptor

It leans too far and I have visions of filing a piece of high impact plastic to fit -- which I am sure I have mentioned before and several years from now i will mention again. But the reality is I only use the side stand to get off and on. Every time I gas or park either bike, I use the center stand. It is just more stable and definitely let's me squeeze in a tad more gas.

Yes I prefer the centre stand too, just getting the knack of putting the bike on it!🤦‍♂️

Not for my Interceptor, but I ordered a duck foot and hockey puck for Pyle. It almost falls over when the stand digs into my gravel driveway. I'll post in the proper forum when I get the parts.

Purchased my Ceptor' off the showroom floor... ..without a test ride. I added the Cravins, from of the Uk , swapped the front sprocket and a touring seat. Great machine... Used mostly for solo adventures .... my only " peeve " is fuel stops.... I get excellent mileage, but I'll top off the tank and all too soon the fuel light is blinking... about 135-40 miles... I don't want to test how far I can go with the one bar....

Well, you can go quite far on one bar if your gage is setup like most of ours. I will normally go about 20 miles or so before filling up when filling locations are convenient. Gas put in tells me I could go quite a bit farther.

The only time I had a concern... last year ripping along in eastern North Dakota.... I was down to one blinking bar.... for several miles... got to the next town... and... the gas sttion was boarded up... I asked a old guy about another station... he chucked... " Son, we haven't had gas here for 15 years... next spot is about 9 miles down the road.."....

Yep, bigger tank would be great 👍
I'd be interested in an alloy tank but very expensive for a custom built job - waiting to see if someone in India starts making them.
This guy can hook you up with the shop that built his 20 liter tank. I had the info but can't find it right now. It was a matter of calling the shop directly on WhatsApp.
I never called for a price though.

When the RE twins came out, an Australian journalist made a few suggestions to RE.

1. the exhausts on the Interceptor should be more horizontal to allow for larger side bags to be fitted.

2. the remote reservoirs on the shocks of the Interceptor should be deleted to make the Interceptor look like a bike from the 60s.

He was happy with the looks of the Continental GT650, as it looks like a 70s cafe racer.

I know this is a point of contention among the Interceptor folks, but I like the upswept look, myself, for a couple reasons. :)
1- I love the "Norton style" look. The '60's Interceptors came with them, and I think they wanted to hearken back to the classic look. Same with making the brake lever look like a shifter.
2- Doing all my own wrenching, not having to remove a pair of exhaust pipes to pull the rear axle is a super-bonus. Rear wheel drops right out with little fanfare.

I don't do any saddle bags, so it's not a big thing for my type of riding. Would I have bought it if it had more BSA/Triumph-type of exhaust? Yep. I love this bike. (y):)
