Hey Guys,

I'm the proud new owner of my Royal Enfield Meteor 350; I got the Fireball Yellow. I got it September 20th, and I LOVE IT! I've followed RE for years. I was thinking about getting a Classic 500 2-3 years ago; I particularly liked the blacked out one, though I forget what the model name was. When RE discontinued the Classic I was bummed. While I like the 650s, I wasn't sure I wanted one of those. I thought I was done with riding, having sold my scooters about two years ago. Recently, I got the itch to ride again, so I started looking at bikes. I came across the Meteor.

When I saw the Meteor, I was like WOW, I MUST HAVE ONE! I checked one out at the dealer, and I liked both how it felt under me and how I felt on it. Unfortunately, they only had Supernova models in stock. I talked to the sales guy, and I told him I wanted a Fireball Yellow Meteor. He called RE North America, and he asked when they might get one at the dealer; RENA said they didn't know. Lo and behold, an hour or so later, he called and said that he got one in their just unloaded delivery! Of course, I put a deposit on the bike, and a few days later, I picked it up. I haven't enjoyed a bike this much in a long time!

Here's a little bit about me. I've owned like 10-12 bikes prior to the Meteor; the Meteor isn't my first bike. My last proper motorcycles were a 1999 Kawasaki ZRX1100 and a 2000 Kawasaki W650. I got rid of the ZRX because it scared me, and I unfortunately crashed the W650 after getting blinded by the sun one morning and blowing my turn entry-a turn I'd taken many times before, BTW. Thankfully, other than some pulled back muscles, I was all right. I thought about hanging up my helmet then, but a buddy of mine convinced me to try scooters, so I rode a 2004 Honda Helix and a 2011 Suzuki Burgman 400 for years.

Then, a couple of years ago, I realized I wasn't riding very much anymore, so I figured I'd sell the scooters; I couldn't justify keeping them if I wasn't riding them. I think I was doing maybe 500 miles a year between both of them? Anyway, I sold them. That said, I kept my tools and my motorcycle endorsement, because I've taken time off from riding before. I got the itch again; started researching bikes; came across the Meteor; and now I'm riding again and loving it more than I have in ages!

So, what made me decide on the Meteor? One, I LOVE its looks; it's just a HOT LOOKING BIKE! Two, after reading some YouTube comments to Stuart Fillingham's review of the Meteor, I came to realize that I identified with these commenters. They were older guys (I'll be 60 in February) who were looking for something light and easy to manage; they sought something that didn't cost a lot to buy, own or operate; and they wanted a bike that was fun. Three, even when I had my W650; even when I had my scooters; the vast majority of my rides were 1-2 hours on local backroads. I do on occasional day trip, but that's it. Four, I wanted a fun, simple, basic bike. Five, I didn't care about going fast anymore. The Meteor ticks all those boxes, so I got one.

That concludes my intro. Thanks to all of you for the forum! I've already been lurking as a new owner, so I thought I might as well join in. Cheers!

Hello and welcome to this forum. The Fireball Yellow is a good choice the color is so HOT,👍 I like bright colors that people can see. I’m like you in am very sad RE no longer makes the 500 single.😕There is small rumblings they will be coming back in about two years or so. Until then have you seen the new 2022 RE Classic 350?

Yes, I've seen the 350 Classic, and I LOVE IT! The dealer said it's coming here next year, but they're not quite sure when. I've read elsewhere that RE will be bringing the Classic 350 here in time for the 2022 riding season. I CAN'T WAIT! I'm want to get one, since it's gorgeous and it shares the same gem of an engine with my Meteor. I like the Red Chrome one-GORGEOUS bike! If my finances allow, I'm going to get a 350 Classic too. I've been kicking myself ever since I missed getting the Classic 500. I won't make THAT mistake twice!
