Oil level.

Getting there...

Hello everyone, I have a question, how do you check the oil level of a scram, I had a burgman 650 before that, you had to stop the engine and check the oil level after 10 minutes, if you waited longer the oil level was much higher. But the position after 10 minutes was the right one.
How is it with the scram?

Put bike on center stand on a level surface and have a look at the oil inspection window on the throttle side of the bike, down low. There are high and low marks.

If you have no center stand (most Scrams do not) you'll need to stand bike up as close to level as you can get and check it that way. Long arms help, maybe have a friend hold bike up for you.

I usually check mine before first ride of the day. If you need to check when hot, 7-10 minutes after shut-down is plenty of time to get an accurate reading.

Thank you very much for the info, I thought it was something like that, otherwise there would be too much oil in it. After half an hour the entire viewing window is full of oil.

An oldie but goodie for oil checks on the 411 engine. As noted above, it assumes you have a centerstand to get the bike level which differs from most Scrams but my recollection is it still matches what is listed in the Scram owner's manual..

Thanks for the info, I put a center stand under it a few weeks ago, so everything is easier
