Out of fuel with gauge showing 2 bars

Finally made it
On my Interceptor I'm getting around
4 litres per 100km giving a range of 345km
or 72 miles per Imperial gallon giving a range of 215 miles.

That gives me an idea on when to get anxious!

What are your bikes getting?

I remember when I could go 90-100 miles on my Himmie's Trip F, but that doesn't happen anymore. Going past 50 is iffy for me for over a year.

That equates to about 150-175 miles on a tank and taking 2.8-3.1 gallons to refill. I recommend resetting the Trip upon every fillup!

Just got my Interceptor recently (2020 model) and have only filled it twice so far. First time worked out at 75mpg and the next time was 66mpg - guess I'm getting used to it 😁

And yes, as soon as I filled it up again, it was fine. It went from kinda starting then cutting out after a bit, to just fine. ?Puzzled?
I would take the tank off, if not now but when you next do the valves and empty out the fuel rinse it with clean fuel and put the tank back, and also check the fuel filter, could be some blockage.

I get milleage almost always and sometimes even extraordinary mileage, Depends on wind, roads, weight but probably mostly how I am feeling. Same with The Bullet. I always try for one brand of gas that I believe to be better.

That was supposed to read "I get GOOD mileage almost always and sometimes even extraordinary mileage, Depends on wind, roads, weight but probably mostly how I am feeling. Same with The Bullet. I always try for one brand of gas that I believe to be better." Guilty of not enough caffeine.

Have your bike's relays been replaced with better quality ones? The grease removed from their contacts?

Odd problems like yours have become legendary for these bikes, and go away with clean, name brand relays installed.

Agreed. I have mentioned before that I had no understanding of my problems until I changed the relays and miraculously, they all went away.
