BS3 Baraht Stage 3 was an Indian motor vehicle safety and emissions standard. In very loose terms folks use it to somewhat describe first series Himalayans made until April 2018 when BS4 took effect.
"BS4" Himalayans got no fewer than 36 upgrades/improvements/changes.

Early BS4 era Himalayans were equiped for the market they were exported to.
Indian Domestic Market got BS4 with EFI and ABS. The EU got Euro4
AU NZ and PI got them with carb and no ABS.
USA (DOT/EPA/US) got them with EFI, different lighting and ABS wasn't even an option. Canada and US specs mostly differ only in minor detail like labeling and KM vs Mi speedometers.
