Scram 411 Exhaust Options

Thanks to my choice of exhaust on my Interceptor 650, and how dang happy I am with it, I decided I'd purchase the same brand of exhaust for the Scram 411. That of course would be the PoweRage slip-on. Quality-wise, it was no disappointment. The pipe came complete, even with the ring adapter to fit between the header pipe and muffler. Everything fit, as expected and bolted up with ease.
It has the qualities I like in a pipe. When cruising, it mellows and quiets down. It only gets growly on acceleration. Perfect for what I was expecting. It's a little shorter than the stock pipe and of course, weighs about half. Now, the kicker.....
I do understand that my Interceptor is a twin and will sound different, while the Scram is a mid-bore single thumper. The sound would will not be the same. That said, the Interceptor with the PoweRage pipes is probably the best sounding bike I've ever ridden, while the PoweRage pipe on the Scram 411 sound more like a chronic case of gas while on the throttle.

I'm hoping to get used to it, as it's the choice I've made and again, quality-wise, I'm perfectly happy. So the question, what aftermarket exhaust are you running on your Scram 411 or Himmie, and do you like the sound and would you recommend it?

I and a few others have the PoweRage and general opinion is that they sound great , to my ear better than stock or a Delcovic.

But preferences vary , if you don't like it then you are just going to try something else until you find something you like!

Good timing. I’m not really interested in changing exhaust just for reasons of sound - my hearing is sh*t as is, so it’s not like I’m going to notice any real difference anyway. I’m a utilitarian, I guess.
I would love to reroute the it - either get it higher, so it’s never so close to the ground, and / or get the tips higher, so when I do pitch it over… because I do, it’s a dual-sport… I’m not putting crap down the exhaust like water. Just… get the exhaust out of the way.
I actually sent a note to the HT Exhaust folks, to ask if they’d ship to the US. They are pondering it. Seemingly every manufacturer in India ships everywhere, for the range of bikes they support; I was surprised they weren’t set up for that. Their “dual exhaust” system, run up under the rear fender, would take some work to implement, brake light and license plate and all. I’d be curious their cost to drop ship one to me

Ok, more miles today. Definitely adjusting to the sound of the PoweRage. I really like that at cruise, it's mellow. More miles tomorrow.
I can definitely say that after installing the PR slip-on and today, the DNA filter kit, the bike seems more spry after mid-range, not that I'm pushing it yet. The sound of the open intake is definitely noticeable. Loving this mule more and more as the miles click on and the engine loosens up. It's a dang comfy ride.

Having fitted the same Powerage slip on to my scram along with DNA kit I am enjoying the better sound , I am running with the baffle or dB killer out , will this give problems running lean / hot, should I invest in a fuel x ? Can anyone advise thanks

Hey 2LZ, would you possibly have a link for where you sourced a PowerRage slip on? Was shopping around and saw a lot of international sites, just wanted to make sure I got it from someone that would actually ship it over here.

I left my baffle in. Getting older and becoming more noise sensitive, though Mrs. 2LZ says I cant hear s--t! ;)
Regarding the Fuel-X (Lite or Pro), it helped "even it out" more than anything else. I'll leave that up to you. Hopefully the ECU is compensating for the changes. I'm a mod nut, so I had to have one, regardless.

Hi Steez_train Mine was from an ebay seller , "royalenfieldking" great exhaust, I must have reviewed them all and this was probably the cheapest, for me it kept the look as the heat shield fits right back on, I am in Scotland and it arrived in less than a week from India, all in all no complaints.

Thanks, my Scram has always felt a bit lumpy at low speeds I think a fuel x is my next purchase20230614_194727.jpg

I love my Scram. Still searing for that dame rattle/buzz though.
Try a few wraps of electrical tape around the headlight ring to headlight bucket seam and go for a ride. If the buzz is gone or reduced then the little rubber snubber thing inside fell out.

Rather than search for it a bunch of us Himalayan owners took the headlight ring off, gooped it with black RTV Silicone slapped it back in and wiped off the excess.
Prob solved.

Preparation would be the key, you would want it pretty clean, perhaps by sandblasting. Then painting PDQ!
I have seen the service offered by some shops, at a solid price, so perhaps there is a little more too it than meets the eye.
Some types designed to stand the heat of auto manifolds heat cure, muffler might not get hot enough to properly cure them either.

This is my new Scram with the Delkevic silencer fitted. I did buy the full system, but after fitting the front pipe, I had clearance issues on the swing arm. The bracket fitted to the front pipe, attaches to part of the frame near where the centre stand would go. Problem is, the silencer would then foul the swingarmIMG_1671.jpeg

I had the same issue with the head pipe with that mount under the bike. It didn't even come close to lining up properly. The stock pipe didn't have that tab for the mount so I took a sawzall to the Delkevic head pipe and whacked it off. Getting rid of the cat helped.
