It’s a tachometer - uses a wire to transmit the engine’s revolutions per minute from the ignition system to the gauge - so completely self-contained, no outside inputs needed.Does this need the GPS to work (like the tripper) or does it run directly from the bike?
It runs directly from the bikeDoes this need the GPS to work (like the tripper) or does it run directly from the bike?
It is not a speedo. It shows engine revolutions per min, not the bike speed.Does this need the GPS to work (like the tripper) or does it run directly from the bike?

.Super Meteor 650 and Shotgun 650 now made to order - 2/3 day dispatch
.I did this mod on my Classic and Meteor, I found it to be a quality kit with very clear instructions and everything I needed to complete the job outside of a few hand tools.
The red markings are between 7 and 8000 RPM.
What is the redline on the SG and SM? I don’t see a red zone on the tach. Thanks.
.
I installed the kit from @nissbird on my Meteor 350 about a month and a half ago, and the instructions -- I just took a look at them -- for the 650s are very similar..
Would you provide a brief overview of what is involved? Thanks.
.
I have streamlined the making of my tachometers, meaning any version can be supplied to a customer within 2/3 days for the foreseeable future. My only fear is that there will be no kits when I finally crack and buy a ShotGun.
