Still no Kiwis here???

Anyone out there got those couole a tools recommended when doing valve ajustments ( cam lock plate and crank lock bolt??)
The RE dealer in Auck quoted me over $200 for each tool . I think they must be gold plated or something? But they also told me as an Authorised RE dealer they weren't aloud to sell them to me . Go figure??? Mind you at that price I'm more than happy not to buy them. Oh yeah ...also does anyone know the best- cheapest source for shims. They quoted $27 each for BMW'S. I believe you can also use KTM s which possible are a fraction the price??

Not sure which bike you have - and not sure if they ship from India to NZ. I got the cam tool for a J350 from ebay (US ebay, but shipped from India): https://www.ebay.com/itm/146093145840. It was under $40 US. You might look for the seller (Amava Sales) when you login from NZ (presuming you have ebay in NZ?). I confess that on my trips to your lovely country I never spent time searching ebay (too much else to do!).

Sorry mate, can't help you that way. My last service for my 2021 Interceptor was at 20,000km and I paid approx 700 bucks, valve adjustment included. (Royale Hamilton) They would not see me again there. RE knows how to charge you after you bought a bike...But these bikes are usually really reliable and run awesome.

I see a 650 Interceptor on your pic, what year is that? Are you already past the warranty time? I got mine done at 20000, the last service in the warranty time, now I get a local mechanic to take over.
Mine is 2021 out of warrenty i do my own service but not the valves . Its not that big of a job but i am 73 and its just esier to get them done . I lived in NZ IN 1968/69 opperated draglines for NZroadmakers lived at tokano and turangi
