Super Meteor 650 belt drive kit

This is absolutely my first big mod that I want to do. I am going to ride the original chain and sprokets for now though, but having come from multiple shaft drive bikes I have been spoiled with not having to mess with chains.

Beautiful bike by the way!
You will not have long to wait, as my mate was over today and at 6000 km his Super Meteor OEM, non-oring chain is just about shot. Probably another 2000 km in it (thats 5000 miles) and shockingly poor life for a chain these days.

Well, I just visited RSTech site. Very impressed with the information on installing the belt drive kit. All relevant information is FREE as well. Now that makes a refreshing change.
Certainly got me thinking about an upgrade. Obviously had belt on the 2011 HD, but what a chore to replace the belt. This is so much more straight forward.
Praise indeed to RSTech.

Yes, I changed the belt on my Road King once and a big job, mainly to all the heavy bits that needed to be removed. The SM is a doddle and the swing arm does not even need to be removed, so no more work than changing a chain set. At 70 I am a bit slow and it takes me 2 hours - apparently RE shops are charging 1.5 hours to change from chain to belt

Glad that the tech info is of value to you, and any questions, please do not hesitate to ask

I must admit that I am becoming more interested in this conversion. The stock chain length for the SM is 108 links and for the SG it is 106 links. You offer the same conversion kit for both bikes but I do not see a requirement on your website to say which bike you have? How does that work? Am I correct in thinking the difference in chain link size is due to the difference in wheelbase length? If that is the case, how does the same conversion kit work on both bikes? Be it stock gearing or taller gearing. Thanks.
