Tail Tidy - Prototype product testers wanted

Hey guys

I just bought an interceptor a few months ago with the idea of designing some parts for it. Had been talking to the dealership for awhile before I pulled the trigger and they made it pretty clear that almost everyone is looking for parts to throw on these guys and there's not a ton of US support for the bike.

I'm a mechanical engineer by training and taught myself how to run a CNC machine for my current work, which is also in the moto industry. Decided to give it a go because I haven't found anything that fits the aesthetic that I'm into. There are a few options out there, but this is a bit different

So I've gone ahead and designed up a different kind of tail tidy for the Interceptor/GT and I'm pretty happy with it! Have gone through a few prototypes and slight design changes and here's where I'm at:

It's all designed and machined me. All AL 6061, LED light bar with integrated signals. External signals are an option with bolt on mounts. Anodized by a shop up the road in here Denver. My other work uses Koso for license plate lights and Chrome Glow for the brake light. I really like the fit and quality of both of those, plus I've got a good relationship with them which helps! I've designed a circuit board that I've sent off for prototyping - nice to have for ease of install, fast flash correction, no cutting, talking a nice plug and play option here.

I'm looking for a couple riders with Continentals or Interceptors that would be willing to have one of these kits in return for honest feedback for fit, install, function etc. Looking for some detailed input to help iron out any details before/if I decided to actually start cranking these out!

The plan is to machine about 4 more full kits within the next couple weeks here.

Let me know if anyone is interested! Like I had mentioned, I'm giving away my time and work here for quality opinions and feedback, if you're happy sharing as much as you can, shoot me a message and I'll get you on my list.

Thanks!

I would try out your product and give you honest feedback. From the install process, fit and function to daily use. I'm more of a traditional look myself, but willing to help someone trying to bring a new product to market. Let me know if I can help.

Your design looks very….eh..tidy 😇

A few years ago I inadvertently bought what turned out to be a prototype tail tidy for my Moto Guzzi V7. The first version hit the tyre on full suspension. The second one cleared OK but allowed water to throw up onto the back of the bike and the back of my helmet. Not much use in UK! So a good idea to get a few out there on different bikes.

Thank you! The idea was to keep it pretty low profile, but still have a nice bright light. I've always been a big fan of the LED bar, brings a little modern touch to the old school style of the bike.

Thankfully this does not hit the tire! Plate more or less mounts in a similar position/angle to the factory mount. Little higher of course, but really no chance of contact.

Yea exactly right! If this is something that could catch on, I want to make sure it's good out the gate. Always capable of making changes down the line, but I've only got one set of eyes and am not perfect! Hoping everything goes well and I can really make something here
