I think it cleaned it up quite a bit. Here are before and after pics.

Thanks guys. I went with a much smaller horn a while back. Ended up bolting that to the frame bolt pointing up about 11:00 under the tank and then took some black electrical tape to the white fuel pump, so it didn't stand out.

I didn't like the matt finish and have cut it back to a gloss, 2000 grit paper then the Armorall cut and polish from the supermarket worked fine.
Yep, clear coating might be the way the go, but installation instructions with most vinyl transfers don,t mention it, so I just added a couple of coats of resin polish which copes with everything but a good soak with petrol.
Hard to find a good spray pack matt clear too, and hard to blend out if you goof with the spray pack!

Heh, no worries there, Roy, I've been using computers for 37 years, and even I can't figure out these stupid "smart"phones 😆

Edit: almost forgot, I dig the gold, @2LZ a little gold in the right place is always classy in my book

Not a smart phone, just a seniors push button flip with a SOS button on the back.
And a 2 MP Camera, somewhere, but it takes crappy photos.
Have another Panasonic Lumix but the battery is stuffed .
I logged on to the Apollo moon shot computer over 50 years ago to access their CPN and PERT programs, when I was on a major contract with a hefty bonus/ penalty clause.
Cost GBP500- a hour when that would buy you a new car, but it was well covered by trhe bonus fr early completion.
The were better than anything in the available construction software packages when I retired 12 years ago. So much for progress!
And the CAD Quantity estimating figures could be 40% of what was required, probably explains why so many projects go so far over budget these days.

I get the 2000 grit wet sanding but "Armorall cut and polish"? Is that also with the 2000 grit or did you go higher??? 0000 steel wool???

2000 grit wet on a foam backing pad gets things pretty smooth, most cutting polishes will take over from there.
I usually finish a rattle can job the same way so I had the bits around,
But If you can find 2500 grit or 0000 steel wool they may work better, I have never tried either.
ArmorAll Cream Cut & Polish was available in my local supermarket for $US 6- and the price includes a foam applicator pad so works out less than half the cost of similar products at big box auto parts stores.
Same treatment brought the dull headlights on my car up too, and most kits to do that are expensive too!

Looks a good product, but not seems not everyone has the skill to get it to work right first time.
I wanted a gloss finish on the tank and elsewhere as the existing matt finish getting uneven gloss and in places showing white weathering,
I fixed it simply and cheaply with products I had to hand that I knew would work.
No question 2K clear coat would work better- just about every factory uses it as OEM finish.
But I messed up so many times with clear coat I have given up on it!

Looks really good. 99.999% of the time I'm a "form forever follows function" kind of guy but I just love the splash of yellow the Graphite Yellow bikes get from the urban badges. I've thought a bunch about how to change the decals on the tank to keep a bit of that yellow and ditch the badges, but I can't come up with anything because the tank is gray with a different gray "411" already pasted over the entire side. I think I'd have to pull that entire decal set before applying anything else.

I've found a set of saddlebags that is awesome on my DRZ in a yellow that perfectly matches the Scram. I've ordered an identical set in Blue/Black that will (almost) match the DRZ, when they arrive I'll transfer the yellow ones to the Scram. Perhaps that megadose of yellow will be enough to get me to finally drop the badges.

Of the Graphite colored bikes, the yellow would have been my choice, also. Seems like we have the same taste in bikes! I'll find out today if my DRZ is sold or not.
My DRZ comes in two flavors. A blue SM, and a yellow jacket S motif. Love the bike, just don't ride that aggressively anymore. Have a younger buddy who still rides the heavy fire roads with his buddies, so it will be a good home for it. Pics in link.

It's not that I didn't like the little side badges on the Scram, but as you say, form follows function. I knew I was never going to put any Himmy crash bars on it so that whole cross bar assembly was unnecessary.

Love how this came out! I've got the Blazing Black as well and Im thinking I will eventually remove the badges. At first I wasn't sure because I like that they say "Royal Enfield"....but you came up with the perfect solution. The size/placement and gold lettering looks excellent

Can you share how you placed the horn after removing the bracket? Did you have to custom fabricate something?

Here is the horn I bought. The stocker is massive. Unacceptable. I wanted one that wasn't riveted instead of bolted on the center mount.

I'll post a pic of what I used. It's all stock stuff. No custom mounts.
