Nothing out of the ordinary about my last ride home from work. Finished at 8pm, roads were pretty quiet, and it was dry and mild. Could've taken the long way home, but after 12 hours behind the wheel of my bus, all I wanted was to get home and into my PJs in front of the fire.
The Himi sparked up first prod of the starter, I'm less wary now after 2 months since having the fuel pump replaced.
Clear skies and clear roads left me feeling like the only person on earth, and I fell into a happy rhythm with the bike, chasing my headlight round the few bends on the 7 mile ride home, the engine was singing as sweet as it ever can, with the usual side order of valve clacking and the buzzy rattle of various fasteners struggling to stay attached to the bike, and I felt truly in harmony with the machine. Barely any input needed to get it to go where I wanted, bumps soaked up, even the glare from the clocks didn't bother me too much.
I pulled up at home almost wishing I lived further away, and it was with some reluctance that I locked her up and popped the cover back on.
Had a further bonding sesh the next day with a bucket and sponge, and elected to use the bike again today for my usual 5:30am Monday commute.
So glad I bought this little bike. It's all I could want, and then some.
