20260207_123907.jpg

Hello! Under the back seat of my Himalayan 452 there are two connectors that I assume may be for diagnostics. Can anyone help me with information on what adapter to use for an ELM 327 or something similar? Thanks in advance to anyone who responds! Simon

The red one is for OBD2 diagnostics - typically you need a converter lead from six pin to the more common 16 pin OBD2 interface. The black one carries the same power and data connections but is for optional Telemetric equipment - data recording etc.
This is correct, and you can use either for OBD2 connection with the appropriate adapter. I have a veridian cruise control that uses the red connector whilst riding, and I have a diagnostics device that uses the black connector, which is somewhat opposite to RE intention, but it makes no difference.

The difference between the Euro 5 OBD2 connector of the Himalayan 450 and, for example, the one used by other Royal Endfield models, is only in the shape of the connector or in the distribution of the communication cables? I have doubts about whether the cable shown in the AliExpress link would fit the Himalayan 450 connector, regardless of whether the order of the cables is the same.

The adapter cable for my Himalayan 450 just arrived from the Far East, and it seems to fit the bike's OBD2 connector. On the other end of the cable, I attached an OBDLink adapter, which I use to scan my BMW motorcycle, and after turning the ignition on, the device came to life. I managed to connect it via Bluetooth to the "Car Scanner" app, but the data it displayed didn't match reality. With the engine off, the RPMs fluctuated wildly and showed very inconsistent values. I don't know what's causing this error. I don't know if it's a problem with the cable or the app installed on my phone. I also installed the "Torque" app, but in this case, I couldn't connect it to the OBD2 reader. We'll keep trying. The motorcycle didn't catch fire.motoscan.jpeg
