Upcoming Royal Enfield Bikes

From Zigwheels,
“Royal Enfield has promised to deliver 28 new motorcycles over the course of the next seven years. In this video, we bring you all the info on these new Royal Enfields and what more could possibly be in store.” I’m excited about the 650 cruiser with upside down forks. I’m hope it’ll have at lest a 4.5 gallon fuel tank for those longer rides.

I'm excited for the cruisers. I'll even get in on the pre-order, if they have one like they did for the Himalayan. I was impressed with the 650cc engine when I test rode an Int 650, and would love a cruiser version of that bike. It may not replace my Vulcan 1700, but it would be a fun around-town bike for some two-lane highway cruising.

Just watched, the comment about an electric version of the Himalayan was almost hilarious. I'm sure where I want to take my Himalayan there will be charging stations, NOT.

Yes RE I’ll buy one! I own the RE 650 in a Continental GT and it is indeed a sweet motor. With a set of HB ( Hepco & Becker ) hard bags and with a short windscreen the new RE 650 Cruiser should make a nice little touring machine. I may even give some thought to selling my HD Road Glide, as it is tipping the scales at close to 900 LB wet.

Need to make something along the lines of this for the road.....
LOL, Dime City Cycles are doing nothing new! RE has already made it! Here is a pic of my 2017 535 Continental GT. RE started building the Cafe Racer 250cc Continental GT back in 1965.

Was thinking more on the lines of using the 411cc Himalayan single engine, modified of course, and design a Harris Performance frame around it as a street/cafe version, but as you point out the 2017 535 Continental GT probably fits the bill. I would bet the market in the U.S for RE is mostly with older riders, the younger ones go for rice rockets where speed is the holy grail.

Yesterday did a 200 mile ride on the Himalayan, mostly pavement, a little gravel. Took in the scenery, enjoyed the fresh air etc I want to see more than the pavement in front of me, so I don't ride at track speeds. Of course was passed by the rice rockets riding like there is no tomorrow. For some there may not be. If going fast was important I would sell the Himalayan and buy a track bike and race again on the weekends, but the Himalayan allows me to escape the race (rat and human as well). On a back country road with nobody else in sight as far as you can see is the goal.

Did you know the 535 is a Harris Performance designed double cradle frame? Also the 535 motor has way more character, torque, and HP then the 411cc Himmy motor.

My buddy and I rode to Bickleton WA only a 300 mile round trip for the day. I got five nice bike comments on the 535 as my buddy on his beautiful HD street glide got zero for the day, e was pissed. The Blue Bird Inn is the oldest continuing running Tavern in Washington. They also make the best burger you can buy In the state!3318

Keep a eye out for one with a little patience’s and you’ll find nice one. I just did a quick search and found this 2016 535 with some issues only about 75 miles from you but they are asking a stupid high price for it.

2017 is the best year to get and was the last year RE made this model.

Three years ago I drove to Boise ID to buy my NOS 535 some 1,000 miles round trip. But I got the bike I wanted and the right color.
