Inclined to agree with you Madbiker , she has become boring to me now maybe because she isn't riding a Himalayan or maybe because it has just become a job now.
Yes it’s disappointing she is not riding a Himmy these days put I have to hand it to her she is doing the best she can and is still hanging in there. I have to admire her for that. Most people would have quit along time ago. She still has a passion for traveling. Touring in this time of the covd-19 is not easy. I was a long distance rider doing up to 50,000 to 60,000 a year and loging over a million miles on motorcycles in my lifetime. 99 % of that was on paved roads. Her touring on mostly off pavement is amazing to me. Sometimes not knowing where the right road/trail is. It may take a year or so longer but I believe she will be back on track when this covid thing blows over.

One thing I notice (I still watch her) is that she's not logging a lot of miles per day. Usually around 200km or so per day. I watch her speedo sometimes when she's off-road and routinely see 40-60 kph. Yeah, she's out there but she usually leaves a nice place and books into a nice place, but of course, nothing glamorous. I wish I had the ability to do that. It's not the destination, it's the journey. And she's having a ball. I'm envious.

Been riding over 50 years and enjoy watching Noraly go places I'll never get to in this life. Have made it to South America and Alaska but that;s about it. Admire someone who can find a way to make it happen, produce great video, drone shots etc. If it was easy everyone would be doing it.
As far as making money, I'm sure she's not the only person or company in the world who is doing that. Anyone working for free?

interesting thing is that a chap who uses an algorithm to calculate income from youtube channels worked out her annual income from this at about $180k per year, and yet she masquerades that she has to go for the cheaper bike because she can’t afford the more expensive (and more appropriate) bike for her South Africa trip. She has lost my following when she proved that it was no longer love of it but profit that drives her - it has become little but an act, and no longer the ‘let’s explore the world on what I can afford’ thing. She also harps on every now and then about how she has sold up everything at home to find her journey - which while it may have been true it is like someone living with their parents while earning a fortune and claiming they are homeless.

Now, I would be the first to congratulate someone on their success, and I was letting her videos run through to support her channel even when she was doing stuff that didn’t interest me - but to me the dishonesty by omission means I’m out.

I'm very interested to see the algorithm and data. Got a link or files to share ?

According to this calculator her estimated earnings are $862 per video. So if she churns out 3 videos a week her income is $2586 a week. Then there's the merchandise and sponsorship, if she has it. Cute girl on bike is a shrewd business idea I'd say. Not my cup of tea, but then I'm a hateful individual.

For an old cynic like me it seemed pretty obvious after the first look that it was just money making entertainment,
For some but not for me.
But just like Fortnite's spoof videos, some seemed to get a lot of pleasure from them, and it is all pretty harmless in a juvenile sort of way.
So lets just leave it at that, she is a extremely talented young lady who has made a lot of money doing something she loves doing, half her luck!

Oh don't get me wrong, I wish her all the luck in the world, but as I said earlier in this thread I started losing interest when it became a job rather than a passion for her. I supported her channel even then until it became so blatant that it was now biased heavily towards the money rather than being 'genuine'.

Now I imagine you would have to deduct expenses, besides the cost of the bike, and then divide her "income" by the 12 hour per day x 7 day per week job, which I am sure not many on this channel work as many hours. I wouldn't buy another Himalayan and attempt to import it into South Africa just to keep purists happy. Why not buy what is available, especially when COVID is still impacting your travel. I would also suggest those who find it no longer entertaining to "change the channel". Kudos to Noraly for doing what others only sit around and talk about on their couches, if it is so easy and she is making so much money, then I suggest it would be easy for anyone to do the same. Tired of whiners.

I am impressed by her travels and easy nature , I'm not so afraid for her in South America as I am for her in the US ! Most motels in SA have somewhere to put a bike away safely , not so in the states . I go to Mexico quite often and never worry much for my bike and self but when I get back to the States and am traveling back to CO I spend half the night peering out the window to my bikes !!!
I have spent time in Chile ,Peru and Bolivia and have never had a problem at all . Folks are very friendly to dumb ass gringos , just make the attempt to speak Spanish and they will look after you , don't be an ignorant know it all tourist !
Spent 6 months in Colombia with not a single problem, often times travelling alone. Came back to the U.S. and got mugged at the Oakland Airport.

Well done GaleForceEight for helping some of the people here see the true nature of most YouTube video content creators.

One other aspect of earnings from YouTube videos that is not spoken about here is from "subscribers" (fools) who donate cash in live stream sessions.

I watched one of her live streams for a short time and in the space of about 3 minutes these fools donated well over 200 US dollars for "Gas money" to her as she pled poverty and hardship to them. The live stream ran for about an hour so one can only speculate as to how much extra money that generated.

Your valuable contribution here can only help people wake up to the exploitation being perpetrated on them by such content creators.

As I have previously said, I have no objection to content creators who do this in an honest and open manner but as you point out "dishonesty by omission" reveals true intent.

If after knowing that a particular content creator is exploiting people, a person wants to continue to giver their hard earned money to that content creator, although I might think that they are foolish and or naive, it is ultimately their choice how they waste their money.

If I cared that much about money, then, if I were her age, riding my bike for 12 hours a day, 7 days a week and having an audience of sad old men living vicariously through me, would be like winning the lottery. I'd happily do overtime at that job. But, of course, she doesn't "work" anything like those hours, she's having a televised "adventure", remember. And writing about being being tired of "whiners" is whining, by the way.

"she doesn't "work" anything like those hours," Reality check. She may not be riding, try converting drone videos and GoPro videos and editing into something interesting with music etc, I tried it and gave up as I got tired of the hours and hours I was spending in front of a computer. Obviously, you haven't tried it.

had to make one more comment.... re: "having an audience of sad old men living vicariously through me ", Besides my wife who had never ridden before, I know of several women personally and have found many on the internet, who have been inspired by what Noraly has been doing and gotten into motorcycling because of it. I think that's a good thing going forward. On top of that, many younger people have no clue about the rest of the world, the landscape, the climate, the people and their customs. She is doing what our educators so often fail to do.
