While I was still working in bike shops (and pushing fifty) we had a whippersnapper who owned an earlier version Ninja 250. I forget what I was riding, maybe the Sportster. He kept insisting I take his bike for ride, since I sneered at "little" bikes. (After riding a SR500 for years). I finally did just to shut him up. And then I had to shut up. A flashback to the days when a 305 Superhawk would spank any Brit 650.

Reminds me of the story when my uncle's friend and he (Commando850 and Lightning 650-2stroke respectively) were laughing about these 'little japbikes' that just got released. One day Tanner gets on a Honda, revs the balls off it, and promptly dumps himself off the back of the bike.

Hardcore Norton rider never laughed at a small bike again, no matter where it was made.

So I bought one of these.

I need to drain the Corvair fuel tank so I can get my camera down there to check the tank condition. If it's rusty, I'll replace it. That said.....

Obviously the little motor on the end of the wand won't make it to the bottom of the tank. I was hoping to put a long hose on it and cross the fingers that it would suck it up far enough, or somehow prime it first. Anyone have any real experience with these???

The problem will probably be in the pump used. If it's using an open impeller type (cheapest, least parts, most commonly used) then it probably doesn't have enough draw (sucking power before the pump) since it would be designed for lift (pushing power after the pump).

At the VW shop we had an old scavenged electric fuel pump (Motronic-era Golf/Jetta?) with a couple long hoses and a pigtail with alligator clips. Set it up, hook it up to a battery, remember to turn it off before it runs dry so you don't burn out the pump.

I bought a Bluetooth mesh intercom from Fodsports, their FX7. It is recommended by one of my friends, he also bought a FX7 in earlier August.
I want to experience its Bluetooth mesh technology.

My wife and I use a pair of Fodsports for our helmet communication and I am very impressed by the value. Phone calls are crystal clear, good range on the intercom, very good price point.

I would also recommend these for a budget intercom.

A new front Bridgestone (the third). Also had the wheel trued.

Plus, a second trip to the vet, and car insurance due in two weeks. Looks like baked beans and Spaghetti-Os the rest of the month.
I feel for you. I'm doing okay but there are still days where I eat boiled rice because I remember when it was necessary to eat boiled rice. Mostly in those borderline squats in dodgy areas of London after months of sojourning in obscure parts of the world where life was much cheaper. Strangely, I always seemed able to afford the pub. Possibly because I economized on food. Young and dumb was okay while it lasted.

14mm Allen key? I've always used an old (Honda) bolt in Visegrips for needs like that.
Well, I needed it for the crank access cover to rotate the engine for valve adjustment and couldn’t come up with anything brilliant. Had to buy a whole set too…
Not needed … put on center stand, pull plugs, put in third gear, rotate the rear tire in the normal travel direction to line up the marks.

"Bluetooth Mesh"? Like the ability to have more than one unit receiving the same signal, maybe?
According to their official page, the FX7 is a Bluetooth mesh intercom. Each of the intercoms are connecting with other intercoms(in the group). That is, intercom A connects with intercom B, C, D, E at the same time. Intercom B is connecting with A, C, D, E at the same time. C, D, E the same way connecting with others. With this kind of connection, anyone entering or leaving the group will not influence the other riders' connection.

This is different with mesh intercoms like Fodsports FX10C or Cardo mesh intercom. These mesh intercoms connect in this way to form a group: A connects to B, B connects to C, C connects to D, and D connects to E, just like a chain. In this way, once one of them loses the connection, for example, C loses connection, then A and B are a group, D and E are a group. During this period, A and D/E cannot communicate.

However, all these mesh intercoms, no matter Fodsports's or Cardo's, these two connection methods can work if the other intercoms are also mesh intercoms.

If mesh intercom connect with Bluetooth intercom, then normally the mesh one can only connect in 2-way intercom style. Both Fodsports, Cardo, Sena are the same.

I can confirm that the FX7 will drop bluetooth audio when it enters intercom mode. I have yet to get a phone call while in intercom mode, so I do not know how it does in that case.

The FX7 intercom mesh does work well with a 3rd unit, which functions as a range extender when between the other two. I have not had the opportunity to try it with a 4th (or more) FX7, but I assume the same result as with 3. The third unit was able to drop in and out of the mesh without affecting the others.
