Hi guys:
Just wondering if anyone had or thought of changing the rear tyre for a wider one.
Would it be possible ?
What would it takes to do it

Many choices available, and although you can maintain the exact cross section profile for our likable handling traits, the dust will settle on a tyre that will be around 10mm taller +/- at the sidewall. Either raise the front end or go to a 110/18 front to fudge a bit. It's a good trade, IMHO. I get teaser rain for thirty minutes a LOT in my hills and the 110 change gives me that ROSSI syndrome . Either do that or go live in the UK for a while. I've never seen a mass group of biker blokes that can ride as well in the rain as UK bikers. "Rain ? What rain?" ๐Ÿ˜œ ๐Ÿ‘ˆ

I invite you to ride here in the NW. Many bikers like myself ride year around. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘‰๐ŸŒฆ

Haaahaaaa .. . .Yeah, noted. I remember back in the day doing my district & club racing at Sears Point and Laguna, you guys would come down the coast and marvel at the sunshine, like it was a treat. You'd all snicker at the rest of us griping and groaning about the mist and wet track. "Kick-butt time" you guys said & did. So, ummm, well, I haven't forgotten. Noooooooo, never gonna forget. ๐Ÿคจ At least the guys from the UK were tactful . Sheeeese.

G'day mate, I live in Melbourne Aus, well know for it inconsistent weather, although I still think it's more of a bad reputation than anything else.
I also commute every day in motorcycle, Summer, Autumn, Winter, Spring and the best of all Melbourne-make-up-your-mind, where we can have any/all session in 1 day.
I bet Britons are so used to the rain that having a sunny days is the odd ball hahaha.
For all weather rides I prefer to use my Africa Twin. From commuting in sunny / rainy days for 40km (about 50 min each trip) to go for weekends adventure rides to the hills with whatever the conditions might be, any conditions including rain in clay roads, mud, heavy fog, of dry and dusty and everything in between.
I wouldn't put the interceptor in those situations though, I bought the Interceptor as a nice classic bike what I will prefer to keep clean and shinny (Mark Two, chrome)
The wider tyre is more a cosmetic thing as the original one look a bit skinny.

You have to watch you don't go too chunky with the tread pattern on a 150, Scorpions are more road biased so they work fine on the interceptor
Awesome, think I might try this. I guess ill need a bigger innertube too. Mine only seems rated up to 120/70 even though stock is 130. Did you have any issues with the centre stand? Seen someone mention that. Im guessing they mean it could catch on the tyre? Thanks

Going this route next time around. What about front tire sizes? Not for the fat tire look but strictly for availability. I'm looking at the Shinko 777's. Have had great luck with them prior on our canyons. No 100/90/18 is available that I can find. Would really like matching tires.

I have used for 19k km a Pirelli Scorpion Trail 150/70R18 tyre but i decided to go for 130/80R18 witch got me the best from both worlds, the bigger diameter to run a slight long gear ratio and a narrow tyre for agility.
