Little place called Old Town, in between Cross City and Chiefland.Where at?
I camp & ride in ONF but use my can am utv for trail riding as the trails are more suited for 4 wheels than 2. also do my 2 wheeling offroading at Croom during cooler months on my CRFX ,been going there since i was a young boy & always have a blast!Yes, the ONF is nice. I live there part time and the other part about 40 miles south of Tampa. Kind of an every other week thing until I move to the forest full time. The Himalayan stays at the forest to use there. Many nice dirt roads to travel although some can get quite sandy quickly. You are right about the wild life, deer and bear are pretty prevalent especially at night. And lots of bikes passing through during bike week.
That's nice that you have bikes and utv and use them for what they are intended. Do you use the OHV areas in ONF? If so, Lake Delancy or Big Scrub.I camp & ride in ONF but use my can am utv for trail riding as the trails are more suited for 4 wheels than 2. also do my 2 wheeling offroading at Croom during cooler months on my CRFX ,been going there since i was a young boy & always have a blast!
That is why you should always ride your own ride. Groups are a great way to for novices to learn. It only becomes a problem when ego does not match reality and with those who cannot be honest with themselves. Motorcycles tend to be self correcting of those two things but you are absolutely right in you don't want that correction to involve you. It's not wise to ride in a large group with people that you don't know their riding ability. It can get you in trouble quick. If I do write in a large group, I'm either in the front leading it or to the rear.
