What’s a bullet sixty-5?
That was the model of pre unit Bullet that launched both the 5 speed transmission and the electric start for Enfield in 2004.

They came with 1960's style high gloss metallic paint in a variety of colors instead of plain paint, some extra chrome bits and rubber fork boots instead of tin tubes.
They really looked like a 1960's bike compared to the four speed Bullets that looked 1954.
The 5 speed was a smash hit and became standard on all Enfields later on in 2005. 2006 was the last year of the Sixty-5.

My buddy has one. It's neat-o !

Thanks for the information. I can’t wait to hear more about the 500. I wonder if it’ll be a bored out J-model. Man the suspense is real.😂

I hope so too ! That little extra oomp of the 500 came in handy back in the pre unit days !

500cc Enfields were always a poor seller in the Indian Domestic Market. In Western export markets the 500 outsold the 350 by several orders of magnitude.
So much so that 350 wasn't offered here in the UCE era.

Big picture numbers wise, the 500 sales here and India wasn't even a drop in the bucket compared to the 350 in their home market.

I hope they do offer a J 500 powered Bullet . That extra snort will only increase sales here and that will increase "street cred" elsewhere. No doubt they've already crunched the numbers to determine if the juice will be worth the squeeze for them.

Just my 2¢

It's a tarted up Classic 350 ! We have been exposed to the power of modern marketing techniques. I'm going for a shower :)
Yeah I really don't get why Enfield would salami slice their 350 range like this. They should have led with a Bullet 350 as it's a more iconic name and then just had accessories available that would let people turn it into what is the Classic 350. I don't see the need to distinguish between a Bullet and a Classic from a branding perspective?

Watched the stuff, looked at the photos, read the corporate line.

I like it because now people looking for a small retro bike have something between the 1950s and the 1990s in the J-series lineup. A solid 1960s-look bike may even sell better than the Classic, I'd be very happy to see that. I think there is room for everyone at this party, especially with a global market.

The 500 is going to be the interesting one... To my thinking, the Sixty-5 will likely be that 650 Classic from the spy shots, built on the SM chassis. But the 500 has me at attention. Is it just a motor swap or a new frame? And what 500?

I can see the Electra (first Bullet with electric start) name being used with a version of the new 450 (first water cooled bullet?) since it was confirmed a while ago that the Bullet E and Electra names were not attached to the EV project.

In India Electra was/is the noun attached to Bullets with CDI ignition when Enfield first offered it there first on "Lean Burn" engines and also on "Iron" (cylinder) engines.

Later when Enfield CDI came here it was only on the "Lean Burn" / "AVL" engined bikes. The Western market importers used Electra as a whole bike model name.

Interesting times.
