If I have the right ones, nothing seems an issue though I didn't push the final button after confirming all the usual details.

The Side Panels came today. That was really fast considering they came all the way from India. However I immediately ran into a problem. Tork screws. I hate those things. Why can't they use screws that will work with a regular screw drivers? And of course none of my flat head screw drivers will work. They are either too small or too big. So I'm going to have to buy a tool. I'm going to get this one from Lowes. https://www.lowes.com/pd/Kobalt-8-key-Folding-Hex-Key-Set/999954582?cm_mmc=shp-_-c-_-prd-_-tol-_-ggl-_-LIA_TOL_218_Mechanic-Automotive-Tools-_-999954582-_-local-_-0-_-0&ds_rl=1286981&gclid=CjwKCAiAr4GgBhBFEiwAgwORrZxKb4uW3VlyFfTT1e8IVhLH6qwjvy7arkWVJvXx8u--b3sAOQ_DWBoCgYwQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

Or if you have a 1/4 socket driver buy the socket fitting for the T bits and then a set of Milwaukee or other T bits. Whatever way you go, the good news is you are set for all those future projects on motorcycles, washing machines, house framing or otherwise as everything is going to a T head. Construction screws, sheetmetal, electrical, motorcycles..... Please post pics when you are done.

There should be a wrench for that screw in your bike's tool kit.

I had to check. It is a 3mm hex head on my bike but they only give me 4, 5 and 6mm allen keys in the tool kit. Interesting they changed the small things on various models even as everything looks very similar.

That's terrible. I'll have to find a thumbscrew to fit there with a knorled head which will also accept a flat or Phillips screwdriver.

Does anyone remember what the thread is? My bike is still put up for the winter.

Edit: looks like it's M5 x 12mm

I remember reading somewhere that someone had successfully replaced this screw with the long thumbscrew from a Go-Pro mount, probably after losing the screw on the side of the road after swapping his Aux relay and Fuel Pump relay....

Mine had ordinary hex head screws. 4mm I think.

Edit: Check that. 3mm hex, as stated by others.

3 mm hex screws on my bike had soft heads and even lightly torqued eventually rounded out, so a new supplier may have been sought.
And after working on the electrics I have found a JIS screwdriver fits the x head screws better, not usually a problem but some screws seem to have soft heads too!

I find that the hex recess on the head of the fastener is not very deep. Ball-end drivers don't seem to get sufficient purchase, so I use a plain end driver to loosen the fastener the first time. When I put them back on, I don't reef on the things the way they do at the factory.

Just got back from a lenghthy work trip, and my new Panasonic relays were waiting for me. Pulled the cover, did another deep clean on the sockets (man, that grease is hard to get out!)

Putting the side cover back on after swapping the relays, I reached into my bag of random GoPro hardware, and used one of my thumb screws to attach the side cover. That was brilliant advice, and now no tools needed to remove the side covers. Thanks for that tip!

I just got the email, this purchase, after 6 days, has finally shipped.

Any bets that they'll cancel the order and issue a refund because they forgot to raise the price 38% like everything else? I've had that happen to 2 other orders from separate vendors, one on Amazon and one on eBay. When I go to order another prices have gone up, wtf.

And why does autocorrect try to change wtf into etc or wth?
