Anyone else yank this oversized rear brake pedal pad off their bike?

This oversized (IMO) rubber rear brake pedal pad has been bugging me since day one with this bike.

With it, I have to bend my right foot outward from the peg to keep from constantly contacting it, and I have to be aware that, if my right foot is held in the normal position on the footpeg, that I am not inadvertently 'riding' the rear brake.

So today I just yanked the unnecessarily huge pad off the foot brake arm, and just use the naked chrome arm.

I will probably cut a thin piece of black rubber off of something to fit the arm's shiny little 'tongue' and use an adhesive to attach a more sensibly sized pad to it.

I personally like it. I replaced the gear lever with a heel/toe one but haven't had a problem with the brake lever.
There is nothing in the owners manual to suggest the brake lever height can be adjusted nor in the Meteod workshop manual. I looked at the parts list (good old Hitchcocks !) and it looks like the push rod is threaded into the clevis pin fork and held with the locknut so it may be possible to adjust the height that way.
