Battery replacement on Himalayan: Would YTZ14-12S 12V 11Ah work?

Hi to all,
I bought YTZ14-12S 12V 11Ah battery for my Honda NC700X DCT couple years ago. I thought the original battery "completely" died but it was just in "coma" and after a bit longer charging it was good battery again, no issues last couple years.
Although, I tried to bring from dead the battery on my Himalayan - didn't work. After couple days of charging it would charge enough to light the dashboard and start the fuel pump but would not fire up. The voltage fall on 10V - to me it's the sign I would not be able to recover it.
So, the question: would it be ok to use this battery (of course, if physically fits) on Himalayan? My main concern is that, according to the Service Manual, is the Ah:

16279

8 Ah vs 11 Ah of the new battery?

Thanks for any help.

As long as it physically fits there’s no problem using a battery with a higher amperage - if anything it’s better. It’s the cold cranking amps that’s important, especially for a relatively big single cylinder bike like the Himalayan.

Sadly it doesn't fit. The new battery is 5 mm taller.

Btw, is it possible that this is the original R.E. battery?

I have considered going to the YTZ10S as my next battery because of the increased ah rating and that the size looks same as oem but just a tad shorter. Each brand posts slightly different dimension so there might be differences in brands for our bikes with its tight fit.

Doesn’t look original to me. I have seen Varta and Amaron batteries in the bikes. They are both from India and one or both a subdivision of the battery giant Johnson Controls. Both are large providers of oem batteries in that region.

If you have a Euro4 model, hopefully you keep it on tender or have installed the battery drain fix. I’ve kept my cheap Amazon battery on tender (later added hitchcock’s loom fix) and have 3 1/2 years on a cheap Amazon battery. I’ve left my key/lights (LED swapped) on and come back after an hour with no issue. Hope this helps.

(For reference) the replacement Himmi battery sold on Hitchcock's site is said to be 151mm x 87mm x 105mm. (5.9" x 3.4" x 4.1" )

My MotoBatt MBTX9U is 151mm x 87mm x 110mm, and was an easy fit. So it seems it's height that matters.
(5.9" x 3.4" x 4.3" )
It's a 10 Ah, 160 CCA and, (touchwood), is giving sterling service.

(My original battery (here in UK) was labelled "Royal Enfield". Dead at 8 months post registration)

110 high in mine too, AGM, 11 AH and 260 CCA, so bike hardly cranks, just bursts into life!
Have HD leads and solenoid too, OEM battery cable sizing is marginal if you upgrade!
