Update on Itchyboots

Well, Noraly is closing in on a million subscribers which is a milestone in youtube even though the number of subscribers doesn't equate to monetary rewards. I have watched a lot of adventure travel shows over my lifetime professionally made with crews and budgets etc. and what Itchy Boots is putting out rivals many of those adventures.

I do wonder at the pace she is going whether she will make it to Alaska by September on Alaska.

She has done something with the way she speaks which forces me to mute the volume and read the captions. She ends every sentence with some sort of inflection in her voice that is both irritating and condescending. It's hard to describe but if you listen, it's easily noticeable. Seems to be this season only as I never noticed it before.

Be gentle if you're going to flame me.

No Flame, but I have been following Noraly since Myanmar ( so a long time), and I have not noticed anything different other than she is more comfortable.....But then again my ex-wife said I was pretty unobservant. LOL

Do you feel like she is talking directly to you? Remind you of a former girlfriend or boss per chance? The only thing I don't like in any youtube video is when they get too close to the camera. Feels like my space is being violated. LOL! Personally, I feel like I am along for the ride with a friend when I watch her videos. I find here to be the opposite of condescending. I find her to be very respectful of others.

It's just the inflection in her voice. The final word in her sentence is almost like she's asking a question. Again, I can't fully explain what she's doing, but it's forced me to mute her videos and use the closed captions.

I enjoy her vids and have followed her from the onset. I haven't missed one yet.

It’s not her mate it’s you. 😀Only joking.
we in Oz speak with an inflection so I wouldn’t have picked it up anyway.

Ehh, having grown up in California, I'm appreciative of anyone who's speaking English as a second (or even 3rd) language.

There's a lot of people here who don't even make an effort. Granted, English can be really tough to learn depending on one's mother tongue.

Exactly.
Putting aside speaking English as a second language for a moment…
The clearest version of spoken English, I am told is not even spoken natively anywhere; it’s called ‘BBC English’.
There is no ‘one’ version of the English language. Even in the UK there are numerous versions.

Back to Itchy boots - she’s great. 👍
